I just installed a set of heated grip elements I purchased on fleabay for 5.50. They came with some wiring,a little rocker switch, some electrical tape and a couple of pieces of heat shrink tubing. Rather than deal with taking the factory grips off, I placed the elements over my existing grips, taped them in place with the supplied electrical tape, covered the mess with the heat shrink tube, installed the switch on the control retaining bolt on the clutch side, and wired them to the acc. socket. Finally, I covered the grips with a couple of tennis racquet grip covers from Sports Authority. I always use these as grip covers as they provide a nice little bit of cushion and preserve the sometimes very expensive (bmw) grips. The temp has dropped and I am using them now. They are really quite warm - work as well as my factory BMW heated grips ever did... So if you are wondering if those cheap ebay heated grips elements work - they do indeed! |

Let us know how they last, that is my concern any time you have a wire dangling from that throttle side that gets flexed every time you touch the throttle. I'm looking for real world experience and have heard mixed results. |
