The gentleman who posted the thread about the TPS body wearing over time was dead on. Shift the sucker to the right a little bit and it runs just like in days of old. THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting that as I never would have guessed that in a million years. Getting that bottom screw started takes a little patience and some deft work with a screwdriver, doesn't it? | ||

The TPS rotation or whatever it's called helped my bike but ultimately, I had to replace my TPS. The rotation definitely helped the throttle response. | ||

The bike ran perfectly all day today for the first time in maybe 15,000 miles. No popping, no surging, no weird idle change, no hanging revs, just perfect. A little blob of dielectric grease, move it until it puts some pressure on the metal tit and it's good to go. Thanks again! | ||

Anyone know if this tip applies to the 2008 and later TPS as well? I hope so as it would explain some idle issues. | ||

I think I answered my own question after taking it off. The 2008 doesn't seem to have any adjustment for a "mechanical zero". I read 23 or 24 on ECM spy after rezeroing. |
