It is a business.....in times of economic downturn businesses don't adhere to contracts. If they did all of the parts would still be available. Many dealers were heard to have dropped service as soon as they could, even before the shut down of Buell. I visited several dealers over several years of riding my Buells. Many of them are so hung on the HD life style that they just did not get it. Buell made no sense to them. |

While there are dealer agreements that contain many terms and restrictions, there is no "After X/X/XXXX, nobody will no longer be able to order any parts". As long as HD is still making money off parts, they will still be available. They can totally drop everything tomorrow if they wanted it. |

I went to Kegel hd today for a Cheeseburger fries and a coke. Eat to ride, ride to eat. |

Does he serve sandwiches there? Ukes use to have a nice deli in there dealership but they closed it. I use to ride there to get something to eat and look at the motorcycles. |

Some of us would say that they ceased to service Buell a long time before they actually closed Buell... As for parts, I ordered mostly from American Sport Bike even when I technically had a dealer within 110 miles. They sometimes had a dusty Buell way back in a corner... |

I was getting a new front tire (back to the D616) at a former Buell dealing H-D shop. The service guy asked if I had any trouble getting parts - I said I hadn't needed to, aside from a spare belt. He said, "I'm in the same boat as you - I have an American Iron Horse." Sure, buddy. |

As far as getting Buell replacement parts, I just wonder when Harley-Davidson finally does stop supplying Buell parts, I wonder if EBR will get into the parts business. They already have the vendor contacts and there is huge margin in replacement parts business. I think more motorcycle dealers make more money on parts than they do on selling motorcycles. I think that when Erik split ways wit Harley, I feel there was an agreement that he couldn't compete by selling Buell motorcycles of their parts, but once Harley stops selling them, what's to stop anybody then? Just wondering! What does everyone else think? |
