Couple questions 1-what's the size of the left hand thread main shaft nut 2-do u need to remove it to remove the chain and engine spronet. Says so in the manual but was curious 3- how hard is it to remove the engine sprocket doing the xb9 swap and want to do it right |

1- Not sure. Hopefully it's listed in the shop manual. It's not particularly large or an odd size. 2- Yes. 3. Not hard as long as you have a locking bar. You can buy the tool from American Sport Bike for ~$20; many people say a brass door hinge (~3"?) works as well. Don't forget the crankshaft bolt on your 09 is a one-use item; you need to order a new replacement for it. |

When I did mine I took some pictures. The 09 will be a little different than my 06 but at least you can see what's involved. You won't have to remove the stator magnet as the new sprocket will already have a new one on it. The front sprocket is held with a bolt on yours if I remember correctly, so just a couple of differences. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/425775.html?1230619985 I was up your way in 2011. Man, it wouldn't stop raining!! We rode up into Newfoundland, around Cape Breton and back. Been there before when it was sunny so I was bummed wearing rain gear all the time!! Still enjoyed the people though! |
