Anyone know the Lyndall part# for the Z+ front pads that would fit the Uly? Thanks in advance- |

as I recall, and it may have changed, all they offered for Buells are gold pads. most have reported poor results. The ones to get are ebc hh pads. I found them to be a real improvement and they ended all my problems with pulsing etc. I do not know the number for lyndall z+ pads |

Lyndall only offers the Gold pads for the XB. http://www.lyndallbrakes.com/for-buell-motorcycles / That said, most have reported great results with the Golds, especially once they are properly bedded in and get a couple hundred miles of use. |

I beg to differ. The golds are junk. At least, they're junk on a fully loaded 2-up Ulysses. We rode a Res-Ride years ago, me and my ex, loaded bags...shall we say it was an "aggressive" ride. Brakes worked ok all day...until one left hander, and with no warning...they were GONE. No fade, no nothing. There one turn, gone the next. They did it to me more than once...so I went back to stock pads. Happy ever since. |

I recently put on some EBC HH's, and highly recommend them. $49 delivered off ebay. They work great and are made in the USA! |

I also beg to differ. I have the Lyndall Golds on both, my Ulysses and Lightning and have found they work perfectly. Have approximately 20,000 mile with them on the Uly and do track days with the Lightning. Recommend these pad very highly and definitely fitting them again next time round. |

I did put them on the front of the glide-a-bego and I love Lydalls for that application. Very much an improvement on that bike. |

I beg to land somewhere in between. I put on the Lyndall golds in an attempt to salvage my stock 07 Uly rotor (which helped but not enough). Then I put on the EBR rotor and kept the Lyndall golds. It is, as Al warned me, a pretty progressive biting pad. This gives you great control to modulate brake pressure, but ends up also requiring a pretty hard squeeze to really bite down on a hard stop. They do seem to last a LONG time as well. But a couple of us were running them through a hard (but not stupid) run through the NC mountains, and we both got a LOT of fade. Not as bad as Rat describes, but still a LOT. I was not two up, the other rider was. For commuting around Ohio, they have been fine. And when the left turning Corolla tried to kill me, I went from maybe 25 mph with no visible threat to a perfectly executed 90 degree stoppie (into the side of said Corolla) in under 25 yards. If you factor in normal reaction times, that wasn't much margin. I don't remember seeing the impact (though oddly I remember hearing it), but I floated that rear just a few inches off the ground right up until I was out of margin, then cranked down and transitioned to a 90 degree stoppie right at the point of impact. Then played superman. So that progressive bite allowed me, during high stress and with little warning, to control that stop perfectly. I know it was 90 degrees, because my mirrors left dents as they exploded.
Anyway, I digress. I think I'm going to try the EBC pads next. But I won't pull the Lyndalls until after they wear out. |

Thanks for all the feedback. it seems like folks either love the Lyndalls or they hate them. I've run them with good results on other bikes, I intend to try them on the Uly. My experience was that they were dependable and predictable, wet or dry. with an added bonus of little dust. American Sportbike has the Golds listed for a fair price, too. |

I broke mine in hard, with smoke and a blue rotor. They have worked well for me. I have ridden two up on long rides as well with little noticeable fade, but we were probably double Rat's net load weight, so to stop I simply let off the throttle. Heck, we even slowed down going down hill! You will get that unmistakable brake noise. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zz! |

Ran the Lydalls for a while but didn't like the amount of lever pressure required. I like two finger braking and quick stops needed more than two! Installed the EBC HH pads and love the initial bite and how little pressure is required to slow quickly. Big improvement for me. |
