I hate reading stories like this. It was a clear intersection from the picture. How can someone NOT see an orange motorcycle with a headlight on? RIP buddy! |

I found the link from another site. Probably a good idea to see the reality of these types of crashes from time to time as a reminder now that riding season is upon us once again. I play the "pretend I'm invisible" game when I ride. I always assume the idiot in the opposing lane is just that - a blind idiot. It's not foolproof, but it helps. Hope the poor guy didn't suffer; RIP. |

RIP fellow Uly rider. The comments on that article piss me off. Blaming the flashing yellow light, not the driver who hit the rider. People don't see bikes because they don't look for them. They are too worried about cars and if it's their turn to go. |

Even when you're the most defensive driver in the world, the cagers can still get ya. I was once going bout 25 mph through an intersection. I had the right of way, and a car was stopped like he should be at the sign. Just before I entered the intersection he pulls out, not paying attention at all. I Tee Boned him and flew at least 30 ft thru the air. I was lucky, I flew over his trunk and didn't hit anything except pavement when I landed. My XR500 was crunched though. Now everytime I see a car waiting for me to pass I break into a cold sweat. Sorry to see you met your maker Uly Rider |

Things happen so fast no matter how experienced we believe we are. Yes vigilance helps but the time to make peace with your Maker is before the tragedy, one never knows... |
