The original gasket wasn't thick enough for the groove it fits in. The best thing to do is to make sure the dealer is giving you the "newer" version of the part. Maybe Al could help on this.   Arry Posted on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - 02:49 pm:        There are actually 6 gaskets just for the cover. 4) are just for the screws (washer type gaskets) P/N 63858-49, 1) inner and 1) outer cover gaskets P/N 17362-078, and 17695-078. These numbers are from my receipt , so double check when you order. I'm not sure which is inner and outer part number.   Nillaice Posted on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 - 11:03 pm:        here is the best thread that i could find. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=3842&post=2311181#POST2311181 i updated it just a few days ago. i'm still waiting for my headers and muffler to get back from the coater. apparently there is more to ceramic coating than one might think. google search 'powdercoating' and that should get you to a local shop. most powdercaoters allready do or can do ceramic, since it is a simialr process and anybody can order the ceramic powder. now there are better coatings rated for above 2,000 degrees on the market.
