I was looking over a black 2012 bike today and have to say that I was not very impressed with the thing. It has no fork pre-load or rebound adjustment. Or comp adjustment, that I could see, and no remote preload on the rear. No idea of comp or rebound on the shock. The bike looked new but it still had "furry" fittings and rust spots on the discs. I also did not like the "weedy" looking forks. Long travel but a bit on the thin side if you want to "off road" it. For the same year bike and spec, from a dealer, they cost 50% more than my 10 bike does. Of course you need to ride one and go more deep into other things with a bike but, for the price, its a hard job to better a Uly. |

I thought I wanted one so tested one a year ago. I never fond the motor in it. Compared to my 07 x there was no bottom end in it. Gazillion rpm tho. I just havent been on a inline multi cylinder in so long, I forgot what those were like . It also didn't turn very well. So I walked away .n |

I've read posts from two or three ex Buellers who went to the Tiger 800 and regretted it. It's not the same bike at all. Try the KTM 990SMT. That bike is close. |

I think Triumph is trying to keep up with the BMW crowd and their smaller GS series. I love to drop a Uly power plant into a KTM 950S or 990 chassis you'd have what Id say if the best dirt capable, easy to maintain, fun bike ever to be created. (Message edited by ratman on March 15, 2013) |
