One of my plug wires was fried, and I'm broke, so what was I to do? Well a friend had new set of 8mm wires for a v-6 he was given and never used so he gave them to me. Specs are same as the 8mm accel wires made for the uly. I cut the wire down, keeping both ends. Slid the uly coil boots on the wires. Then I took the coil leads from the old pair and put them on the "new" wires. One the plug end I swapped the one good boot I had left for one, and use the "new wire" boot for the other. Working well for 5 days now, I'm hoping they continue to work until I can buy some magnecors. |

The thing about a machine(and don't tell it) is that it has no idea what you have done to that plug wire. It only "knows" if it has spark to that cylinder when it needs it and that it is not leaking off to a ground somewhere. |

That sounds rather like some of my ad hoc wiring solutions! Chris C |

And that wire, if the end is crimped properly, will most likely out live the engine!! Nicely done! I make all my bike wires from buddies left over parts from custom sets they make for their hot rods, only need a few inches of wire afterall!! Bruce |

Way back in time, when I was a hot rodder, we used to buy ACCEL wires. They were always build your own type. They even came with a crimper, basically, two anvils you put the contact in and hammer them down. I still manage to make them look like crap though. http://www.amazon.com/ACCEL-170042-Spark-Terminal- Crimping/dp/B000BW8LT4 |

UPDATE: Still rocking and going strong. Not seeing a need to buy a "made for" set. Will rock these untill they dont work anymore. |
