I have just done my first accurate MPG test since the bike is now run in. All town riding, cold weather, short runs with my normal riding style, which is not hanging about or "lugging" the engine, and with a couple of mins idle before setting off as well. 40.42 MPG with normal UK gas which I think is good. I would get 42 MPG under the same conditions on the 06 bike. Its the first time I have done this since changing out a faulty IAT so that may have helped. I know some will say they they do not care on the MPG and either do I as long as its in the right "ball park" as gas is not cheap in the UK, but MPG is a good indication of "engine state" and ECM control so it is worth checking once in a while for best performance. |

Are your MPG figures Imperial or US? FWIW: I have an '09 & I get 42 MPG (US) on mixed town/Interstate riding. Happy New Year (Sooner for you than me) Chris C |

UK which is Imperial. UK is 4.54 L. US is 3.78L. per Imperial gallon. Your numbers sound about right for mixed riding but it depends on many things. |

I'm happy with my MPG & with the way my bike runs. I'm not "throttle heavy" with her but I'm not "throttle light" either. HNY Chris C |
