Yesterday I found that the indicators are not working AT ALL so thinking its the LED relay but not had a chance to check it. Heated grips not working this morning. Err, something is not right here so tried the horn. Nope, thats out as well?

Not very worried because its probably going to be the Earth again. I thought I did a proper job on it the second time around but it may need a third go. One way or another I will fix this crap if it kills me?

I am not all that bothered if any of this works but I would liked to have used my Stebel "Death Horn" on the Guy who jumped a red light (cold, raining, night and in the City) on me tonight.

And I STILL enjoyed the ride home. So either a Buell MAKES you mellow or I am now on the RIGHT medication.

An electrical fault on these bikes is on a par with relationships? At least you KNOW your going to be SCREWED by the bike, at some point, and will not put very good silk undies in the washing machine.

Stress is the mitigating factor in a love hate relationship, because you don't know what is going to blow up next, or how, or when.

Its not only the ground connection, but the ground and power compression termination halfway between the instruments and the side rail, that are failure locations. Great place NOT to put a crimp with all the flexing there. I ended having to replace both, two times for the positive, until I put super flexible, multi-strand RC type wire from the side rail strap to the instrument/headlight shell for both the ground all power wiring.

Oh and the starter contacts in the push button are playing up the same way the 06 bike did. Strip and clean is the way for this.

Can you just spray electronics cleaner into the switch?

No its just a bit of "arcing" on the contacts. No big deal but you MUST put the throttle cable system back the right way or they can "bind" and stuff.

I fixed this today and found it was one of the other headstock mounted Earths. This one was the small cable mixed in with the other larger ones. The way they have done this is what some, and me, would call "bad practice" because it is going to cause problems at some point. That and "splicing" cables on a bike is just being cheap and lazy. Not a good idea.
