I was in the garage messing around with the bike on the lift and I noticed that my kickstand has a quite a bit of up and down wobble and/or play in it. I've never paid that much attention to it before. It is coming from the where the forked part of the stand meets the bracket. I did a search both here and in the KV, but only found two posts, and none of them had answers is this something I need to worry about? |

Be sure to check the two mounting bolts for tightness and make sure pin isnt broke. My bolts were loose as heck and over 5 years it was just the bike leaning over a little more. Didnt realize just how loose they had gotten. |

There is a recall on the kickstand pivot/bracket. This recall began in July 06. (see newowneer info.) If you have a bike made before this, check with a Harley dealer that still sells Buell parts. |

Slop between the stand and bracket is normal. Slop between the bracket and case is bad. |

Thanks Rat. Its an 09 and the slop is coming from the stand/ bracket not bracket/case. I was about to post a video, but looks like that won't be necessary. (Message edited by argentcorvid on December 19, 2012) |

I don't know what the deal is with the XB platform's kickstands. My friend's 2004 XB12S and my 2008 XB12X have both had kickstand failures. Seems like such a simple part too. No other bike I have ever had has messed up the sidestand like that. |

XB platform's kickstands... HA! Buell has had an on going history of kickstand issues. Other people here can add to this list but the S2's had a lean issue and tubers had a troublesome switch which wass supposed to kill the ign. upon stand deployment but would malfunction and kill the ign. deployed or not.. When my '06 ULY had a sidestand recall I just had to laugh. Frank |

True, my X1 switch went bad at 40,000 and I replaced it with a jumper but it didn't drop the bike on the floor. (I can do that myself dammit!) |
