What a great ride. Sun shining, 57 degrees. BAW in place just in case it got cold or wet. The Uly again ran perfectly, smooth, fast, comfortable. Thirty miles seemed like nothing. It was kind of like riding a couple of years ago. I realized how little riding I have been doing since the economy tanked. I realized how riding for just the sake of riding is not comfortable for me as of late because with business slow, I do not have days to spend enjoying life. I use those kind of long ride days to get away from business and all of it's trappings, however that only feels good if things are busy. This ride was a perfect little trip ending with me driving a truck back to my shop with the Uly secured in the back. Seems to be the key to a happy ride.....a perfect running bike with the trip ending in making money. I'm starting to figure out what makes me tick! |

Must not be a complete story, usually stories that end with Ulys in the backs of trucks are not happy ones. |

Oh, sorry. I own a truck repair shop. Therefore the Uly is in the back of a truck, to or from a customer location, in the effort to make money fixing the trucks. Riding the Uly actually for work is what I have been told is a good job to have if you can find it! |

Usually ride my Uly to work, 1.1 miles there but 15 miles to get home at the end of the day. I miss fun rides tho, been a while.. last year some time. Decided to piss off my neighbor and rode the 1125R today. Z |

Glad to hear you got out Vern and that you had a nice relaxing ride. I thought about it but spent time with my other favorite ride, my wife. Both are great in the curves, responsive and sexy looking. It was a toss up but the sexy boots and winter tights swayed my decision. Plus, she's a whole lot easier to start in this weather. Warmer too. |

I understand the economy thing. My mood seems to follow the DOW. |

Mark.....you lucky man. Good choice. Funny thing for me though. When I have that kind of choice to make I have to consider I get paid for riding the Uly. |

Ok, I'll be sure and ask Susie for money next time. Thanks for the tip. |

"however that only feels good if things are busy." That old "Ride to Live" thing may be a bit corny but there is some wisdom in it. Hard work and long hours will take its toll in the end. And not just you but family and buisness as well. A good "ride out" works/clears the mind (as you should be only thinking of the ride), good (exercise) for the body and (needed) will get you away from work (or after) for an hour or so. And of course its great fun. All for a few bucks in gas. |

Mark, good on you for asking her, but don't take checks.....cash only! Marc, So true, and yeah, a good ride is supposed to work that way. |

The best investment I've ever made for my mental health is purchasing my motorcycles. |

When business got slow in 09 I found riding was a real pick me up. The last couple have been better but I still ride to appointments now and then and find the commute much more fun. Right now Im getting ready to ride over 17 to San Jose. Its about 60 minutes of meditation instead of a drag. Then again I think about how Im helping reduce green house gases..yeah right |
