Well I ordered a Race ECM for my 07 Uly with Drummer. Bike was a little jerky and popping a lot on decel so was hoping this would help. Had the HD dealership swap them and do a TPS reset, bike was cold. It idles TERRIBLY with the new ECM. Tried a few times, switched back to stock and it idled great, back to race idled horrible bike was warm by this point. Finally ended up back to stock with nice idle. Called EBR, they said dealer probably did it wrong and to try at a different one. Only one here in Charleston that I know of, could ride to Myrtle Beach. Any ideas from you guys? |

The reset needs to be done while the bike is hot to make sure the idle is set correctly. Have the dealer try again or take it elsewhere. |

And they need to make sure the throttle is closed TIGHT!You can feel the catch as you roll throttle on/off if you have it so throttle blades are really closed. |

This i know off having a mechanic doing it while bike was cold so the idle was going up and down, we warmed the bike to 160C did the tps reset, and after that te idle was perfectly stable. |

Well, anyone able to do a TPS reset on an 07 around Charleston SC? The dealer does not want to try again, told me i was wasting my time. Would still like to get this race ECM installed. |

Did you try warming it up and adjusting the idle yourself? The TPS reset might be alright for that ECM, but you may just need to adjust the idle to about 1050 RPMs when it's warm. Try driving around with a 1/8" allen wrench (I think that the correct size), adjust as necessary ... these ulys are really picky about the idle rpms ... The idle adjustment is behind the left air scoop. |

Sure, anythings worth a shot! I'll have to try it. Any excuse to fiddle around with the bike is fun anyway. |

Hmmm, won't even idle for long without shutting itself off. I need to find someone near me (SC) that has an ECM spy so we can reset the TPS. Till then its the stock ecm for me. |

I hope the dealer gave you at least part of your money back. Nice that they don't WANT to try. So sorry to bother them. It sure sounds just like how my Race ECM was until I did a proper TPS reset myself, as mentioned above. You have to have bike at full operating temp and also back completely off he idle, as well as using light force to make sure throttle is seated closed fully. I have the VDST (?) to do TPS, but I am 5+ hours west of you in WNC. |

The TPS can be set with the engine cold. The initial angle position during the reset is to give you a reasonable chance of getting it started and idling. After the engine is warmed up, re-set the idle to 1050 or so. If you can't get it started because the idle is very low, turn it up! The idle screw is not messing with the TPS reset once it has been done, only affecting the idle speed. |

I had the same problem when I used ECMSpy. I did it hot and cold. EBR said I had to have a dealer do it with their software. Not so sure now. |

Yea good luck! Let me know if you ever get yours to work, I gave up on mine for awhile at least till I am near a different HD dealership that will be willing to try it for me. |
