I just moved back from Las Palmas, was living in Barcelona and Denia the years before that while my wife played pro basketball in Liga Feminina. I just got my 2008 Ulysses and was planning on taking a second one to GranCa and had to cancel when the team went sin dinero! Only rode my 1984 FLT in that area, but was great. Awesome riding around Costa Blanca! Great seaside roads and mountains. We used to ride up to a restaurant in the hills- El Riu maybe? All grilled meat and a vintage moto museum next to it. Probably. Is there a Zona Rusia also? Tons of Russians and Polish in some places. I was living in Denia- no Spanish there- all militant Valencianos! They crossed the names out on all the signs in Spanish and re-wrote them in Valenciano. Used to run over to the market in Xalo every weekend, nice little place there. Do you know up on the mountain the El Riu restaurant and the Moto Museo? Pretty cool there... | ||

Do you know up on the mountain the El Riu restaurant and the Moto Museo? Pretty cool there... Yes, droved along today. It's between Guadalest and Callosa D'En Sarrią. Nice but 'short' road. There are some nice roads for bikes in this/our region. | ||

Great grilled meat there- family run, really awesome! Had grilled rabbit and 3 or 4 other meats. Museo is cool too. We used to go a back way up from Xalo, forgot how it went, but curvy and longer than through Callosa. Guadalest has a cool old castle... | ||

I guess from Xalo either you went: Alcalali -Orba-Benigembla-Castell de castells-Tarbena-Bolulla-Callosa...... Or Xalo-Alcalali-Orba-Colderates-Tarbena-Bolulla-Call osa...... truly there are plenty of twisty back roads, and many of them have quite new tarmac. | ||

Thanks, but I moved back to the USA, the money dried up for my wifes team, playing basketball in GranCa. We were gonna just stay there but have too many toys in the USA and shipping all and paying import costs would have killed us. We maybe come back for some camping trips- we keep an Airstream trailer and a 1997 F350 there for camping. | ||

Cool. Thanks! Its really beautiful in the Costa Blanca, others who want to tour Europe should head there as well. You can fly your own bike into a number of airports, clear it for tourism, and ride around for a month for about 3000EUR in decent comfort. | ||

Been there in Lagos, awesome place! Really beautiful! Friends with Eddie Murphy who owns the South Bar and West Restaurant and the sailing school- he still there? Great riding around there, nice over at Sagres! Awesome surfing as well, great breaks! | ||
