so far these tires are a blast. just put them on today and went for a burn and she handles the gravel great and the mud is a blast
They are the new TKC80s for our size wheels. The pavement handling felt good. a bit bumpy but nothing major. I had some baldys before so anything was better (Message edited by jetranger_2000 on November 09, 2012) |

Ah, the rarely seen flyscreen removal mod. It gives 0.02 nanowatts more power and makes it fell like a different bike. |

"makes it fell like a different bike". Do you mean -- fall like a different bike? |

I can see removing the flyscreen for off-roading if you've got a huge windshield affixed to it (although I think it's a bad idea with the high chance of water/branches hitting fragile stuff)... but what's the story with no headlights? BTW, congrats on being the first (that I've seen at least) to throw the new TKC's on a Uly! |

Glad to see you realized the bike has a side stand in your second picture. You don't have to just drop it in the mud like a dirt bike when you get off. |

Good to see these (TKC's) being put to good use. Even with the knobs, I would avoid the mud, as much as practical. Every time I get near mud I have problems. Have fun! |

Now looks like it's time to fix that rusty muffler. |

No headlights cause I'm waiting for the HID kit from DDM. Was having a ground issue with the lights so I figured doing that at the same time. Thought the HID kit would be here by now and couldn't wait to ride the new tires so I just zipp tied all the loose stuff! |

My only complaint with DDM tuning is the shipping. It seems every kit I order comes direct from China and takes about 2 weeks. |

I don't think you can post enough pictures of that bike with those tires!! I bet it's a blast!!! How were they in sand, or did you find any. I have never white-knuckled my XT more than riding in loose sand! have fun and keep them coming please!! |

Went out for another 110 km trail ride on Sunday. Was a bit easier handling than first post but mega hard on the quads. My legs were mush for 2 days. Was up on the pegs for most of the ride. Trails were in great shape with combo of large crush rock to hard pack dirt and everywhere between. Tires worked great again. The bike itself is amazing. I kept up with a gs650 and only bottomed out the front fork once( my own fault) got a bit to overconfident on the whoop dee doos!! Lots of suspension travel for offroad. I am a 270+ guy and had no issues. Even got a bit (1"!!) of air at one point. Have the rox risers on as well and it's a world of difference standing up. I am in love with her now and she is doing what she was bought for! |
