As an "old guy" (both literally and figuratively) here, just wanted to say that my '06 Uly(s) (#1 RIP from deer crash) have been THE MOST satisfying and enjoyable bike(s) in my entire motorcycling career. And that career started with a Triumph 650cc TR-6 in 1957. The senior citizens here can attest to my exploits over the years. Up and down, just like life. The Ducati MTS1200S is my LD ride now; the '06 Uly is my commuter, but it still puts a smile on my face every ride. What a great bike! I went to the Ducati Multistrada 1200S after BMC's demise, and have put 40K miles on two Multi(s); including several well-documented (ADVrider.com) cross-USA trips in the last couple years...totalled the first Multi on hoarfrost...I don't seem to be able to keep a bike under me very long (no comments, pls). Yes, I love the Multi, but the Uly has still been THE MOST ENJOYABLE bike over the last decade. Just wanted to SAY THAT. Look forward to Erik's next offering. I'll prolly have 50K miles on the Multi by then; and ready for another REAL BIKE!! Anyway, you folks all take care. Now that I'm retired, I'm ready for some REAL RIDING. Sure hope my health agrees. So far, so good... No other point to this posting...just felt like blabbing... --Doc |

Is good to arrive to retirement with a good set of hobbies, so and if you can enjoy them for many more years so much the better, my dad retired 4 years ago and never seen him so happy, actually he is much more active now than when he worked. |

Doc, it was always great to read your posts as the ride reports and for sure you were one of the main reasons to buy a 08 Ulysses. As you said it's just an exciting bike to DRIVE. This Sunday I had the opportunity to test a XT1200 from Yamaha at a raceway near by. No doubts it's a fantastic bike with lots of advanced systems, top quality. I really liked but you know what come to my mind after shutting down the STen engine? I have to get back to this place with my Uly!!! And talking about age, check this video if you did not saw yet. Last, if you ever come down South America, south of Brazil, will be pleased to drive you around. |

Retirement is GOOD, Greg, and Uly's are super fun bikes!!! On top of that, the Multistrada gets great reviews so you have it all, Man! Life is good! Enjoy, keep your health good, and I hope to ride through and meet you one of these days. Two North valley guys, one former, one presently, riding to the Crest! How does that sound? Best to you, Man, and please stay with us. We enjoy your posts. |
