Well ALL, I have had the Triumph Explorer 1200 for 3 days now, only put 100 miles on it but have experianced rain, cold, heat and sun. I must say my Buell with the Madstad 21 inch tall shield offered better HEAD protection in the rain but as massive as the Exp is around your legs and it has that huge radiator in front, almost no rain soaked me to bad since I had no rain gear on. Rode in 90 degree heat and there is almpost NO engine heat felt by the rider. I got just a wisp of warm air from the radiator at a light when the fan came on. Not bad at all. The suspension is pretty damn stiff and the seat is no where near as comfy as the tall seat was on the Uly. Plenty of leg room and the bars are wide than the Uly but a tad far away. I lean over a tad. No big deal. The doooo dadddds on the dash are mind boggling. Way to much shit to play with. The push button cruies is bad ass, PERIOD. Fuel milage durring my break in has been FANOMINAL. I am averaging about 60 mpg at an average speed of 45-50 on thye side streets and looks about 55 mpg at 70 mph. WILD for me. Now the biggie, POWER! Oh my goodness grasious! HAhahaa. Wonderful power from 1500 rpm all the way to wherever, I had to keep it down in breakin but saw 7000 rpm of 10,000 and what a freaking tractor. A slight buzz but way smoother than the le Uly. So far it a hoot. Totally different design and feel but its on rails in the turns with zero imput from me. You think and it goes there. Very wonderful so far. The Buell was fun and will be missed but man! More after some miles. The BDRAG |

I have ridden 2 Triumphs with the triple. Was not thrilled with the platforms but the motor rocks. |

I do agree i took a demo ride and was great. If i were rich........The dealer didn't want the uly to difficult to sell here in Spain. I'll keep playing the lottery. |

Pontlee77 Well I guess me letting the dealer kick me in the balls on the Buell trade in worked. Its all just numbers on paper but my dealer claims I was the first to get the bike under MSRP. They claim they make a real 15 %. So back out 15% from 15,700 and you get a true dealer COST OF $13,650. I bought mine with tax and all for $14,350 for a 2013. Figger in the money I think I could have saved selling my own bikes, that puts it at a real out the door price of between $15,500 and $16,000. THATS with all the add ons for tax and this and that. Oh and that includes the $440 in added items I had in the deal. Heated grip ( not standard equip as on the Buell,) Radiator guard, no radiator on the buell and hand gaurds, not standard as on the buell. HAhahaaa. BDRAG |

Hey all, Just want you to know I am not knocking my Uly one bit. Just comparing and sharing. If I had not had a few bucks for trips and so on saved back before that black cloud shit on us this year I would not have considered letting the Buell go. But the money I save NOT taking 2 of my anual trips and a little that I was able to scrimp up selling off a few items I didn't use anymore I was able to swing it. My original plan was to get another Strom, use the Uly as trade and some cash because I figgered the Strom with 58 k on i9t was worthless. Who the hell would have figgered the dealer would give me $3500 for the Strom!!!!!!. WOW! I felt good about that and piss poor over the $5600 they gave me for the Buell and all the goodies that went with it. The dealer marks the Buell up $1000 and someone is STILL gonna get a deal on a great bike. BDRAG |

My guess is walk in with $5000 in cash and the Buell is yours. Not an easy one to finance, and the number of people these days with $5K floating around in the bottom of their sofas is pretty limited. Dealers don't like to mess with "strange" bikes to their normal line up. They've made enough on the bike and the finance package. |

Thanks for sharing Bdrag. You never know how a bike truly sits with you until you've had it a while, so I am very happy to see that you still seem pretty stoked with your purchase! Keep us updated. |

How does the curb weight of the Explorer compare to the Uly? I was surprised at how big a BMW F800 GS was with bags...seems like the big Triumph would be huge. |

Ferrisanyoneseenferris One thing in the dealers favor is one of their salesman cam from a local HD dealer that was a REAL BUELL dealer as well. So HE knows what he has and I am sure he has or will be in contact with buellers in his network. Yes someone will get a kick ass deal thanks to ME! HAhaha. Hope they look me up and buy me a cup of coffee! Ahahahaaa. BDRAG |

Dmcutter Its definatly mor top heavy pushing it around the garage. The dry weight is around 560 lbs where the Buell with bags was around 450 lbs. So about 100 lbs heavier. Feels almost the same as pushing the Strom around. Longer than the buell for sure! AHhahaaaa. Here are a few pics with the MEGA BAGS on from my Strom. Krauser K 5's. On the bike its 44 inches wide. The Strom with the same bags was 47 inches wide. BADONKA DONK! AHhaahaaaaa. BDRAG |

From the front it looks like an evil bird that is going to fly in to steal your picnic basket and crap on your head as it flies out! |

I sold off a few guns last year I never used and some old collectables and saved my ALLOWANCE! HAHaa. Yes, i still get paid for takin out the trash, its just not my dad paying now! ahahahaaa. BDRAG |

Me too Marc. I also hope that when your Tigger is a year old and things are falling off of it, you'll tell us how much you miss the Buell and that we were right, and that you should have kept it. Ride safe and beware of the texting idiots driving around Dallas! |

Buellerxt, I will hang. Its hard keeping up with all the friends ya make from forums. I hang on an LC forum, A few spin offs of the LC forum, this forum, the ford Raptor forum and now the Explorer forum. HAhaha. SHIT! Ferrisanyoneseenferris I hope like hell your wrong bubba! AHhahaaaa. If this bike shits on me, I have a 5 year warranty. If I fail at being happy, the first thing I would do is get another Strom, Then decide but I will prolly be WAY TO OLD to make any decissions for my self before I wear the Triumph and a Strom out! AHhahaaaa. Be good. BDRAG |
