And this?

"In addition to being extremely dry, the Sahara is also one of the hottest regions in the world. The average annual temperature for the desert is 86°F (30°C) but during the hottest months temperatures can exceed 122°F (50°C), with the highest temperature ever recorded at 136°F (58°C) in Aziziyah, Libya."

Yep. I have just moved to Aziziyah, Libya.

So Uly_man, are you going to mount the new IAT Sensor in the stock location? You would have to extend the wires to relocate it anywhere else, right?

I will mount it as OEM and see how it goes. The reason is to prove something that I have suspected for some time with the running issues of these bikes. The problem has been, and I have been going on many a site for seven years now, is people do not know how the bike should run in the first place and just go with the "its the way the bike is" crap and "put up" with it rather than have the superb bike that the XB can be if it is sorted.

...so i disabled closed loop idle. 46 degrees F this morning and it ran like a champ during warm-up. No more riff-raff.

.... but what does that mean?

Motorbike, maybe this is helpful to you? At least this way our bikes can idle in a normal manner until we figure the rest out...

Spacecapsule1, you may be right. I would like to try the same thing. Problem is, I don't have a laptop yet or cable to connect it. Maybe I will get everything I need over winter and see what happens this spring. Thank you very much!

But... we still need to figure out why the rough idle is happening. I checked my Buell ecm and it has closed loop idle enabled too, but the idle isn't an issue.... and i like that it doesn't rev up to 1900 rpm when cold. too much noise in the early morning. All can come up with at this point is to copy everything idle related from the Buell ecm over to the EBR ecm....
