I changed the spark plugs, and wires are magnecore, shoulden't be the problem, i remember the issue with the front spark plug wire but i put the magnecore and sorted out the position for no rubbing. Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunatelly i haven't had the time to ride. |

Ok before riding which is the suggestion on disconnecting the fan? the fuse? the connector? by ecmspy? |

ECM Spy would be my choice. But I do not see an option for "fan" on/off, looking at a EPROM I have. If the fuse is dedicated that would be my second choice. |

"Today i did a 600klms ride first 300 all fine stopped to meet a friend the on the way back after 100 klms the bike started skipping, the tack revs a few times went wild so did the speed needle, during 200 kls the skipping was coming and going i was riding between 120 and 140 klms/h it would do it erratic, got home and checked with ecm spy for error codes, none at all, all seemed to be ok. What do you think about this, i seem to remember there was a thread about this." Why, with all due respect, have you not listened and used to the advise you have been given, by me and others, in the past. Part of that is that the CEL is a wast of time and you need to log the run to see the faults. Doing this will give you all the numbers you need to fix your bike. Is that clear enough for you to understand. If it is you will find it will fix your bike. |

Today i took a small ride took the fuse of the fan off the bike seemed to be fine but close to home it did it again, just a couple of times, but never as bad as it was, i need to do a tps reset, as the bike is running a bit rough. Uly_man, I know how to use the basic settings of the ecm spy, looked at pro tuner but i think i don't have enough knowledge how to use it, the maps of my bike when i had the jardine were done by a friend of mine, when i went to the d&d i bought the maps from Al (American Sport Bike) and a few little touch ups were done by my friend. My friend has now many health problems, and if he was ok i'd ask him for advice, but that is not the situation. Also my uly has been quite reliable, my friend's one is the one that had always problems, and for more that we have tried, never got it to go right. |

"My friend has now many health problems, and if he was ok i'd ask him for advice, but that is not the situation." I recall you saying about this and sorry that he is not any better now. I wish him well. Ok it is not maps and such as that is not how FI works. From what you say it is wire damage and something that is all to common on these, and other, bikes. "looked at pro tuner but i think i don't have enough knowledge how to use it" It is easy to use and I will go through it with you if you need to use it. Take care. |

Thanks Uly_man. Lately i'm not riding much (having night shifts doesen't help) weather is quite good, i'll be riding in a few days time and try to see if i can find the point when it starts to happen, seems that in cooler weather is harder to get it happen, also i need to do a tps reset, as the bike is nor running as smooth as usual. I'm currently taking apart my dead x1 engine so i'm quite busy, also waiting to get back my xb9 primary that is been lightened and balanced + the easy pull clutch (my steinert distrophy will apreciate it) once done i'll be thinking about taking the forks off and start to work on the wiring that seems to be the place. I'll try to keep an update. |

So today i took a nice long ride with nice temperature, at some times slow traffic and other times free to twist the throttle, and no signs of skipping, all smooth, what did i do, no changes at all i can only suspect it was a bad gas i got some time ago and until it was all used up and there are no traces of that one left, but i cant be certain about that. Time will give me an answer. Thanks to all for your ideas, problems you suggest i may have. Just one more coment more, i still have the 77 conector and have never had it fail and i'm on the 55.000 klms range. |
