I think this the last part I need to replace after my off last April. (2009 Uly.) I can't use my ATV lift as I have to take off the muffler. So just lean the bike against the work bench or is there a better way? Can I use a rear sportbike stand? Thoughts? Barry |

Rear stand will do you good. |

Here's how I did this. I bought a length of 5/8" steel rod, it happened to be 36" but that was probably about 15" longer than I needed. I slid this through the rear axle. I've got a Centerline Lift that I use for my Buell S3T. It lifts the bike with the operator foot pegs. I adjusted it to maximum width, it just cleared the Uly swingarm. Then engaged the steel rod with the Centerline Lift and raised the rear wheel. I used my Pit Bull front jack to hold up the front end. The bike was very stable when jacked up, it worked out really well. If the Centerline Lift hadn't worked I planned on using the 5/8 steel rod through the axle with auto jack-stands for the rear. A rear sportbike jack would have worked also but I didn't have access to one. Barry |

You can also use a rod through the axle and two auto jack stands. |

Very easy to do. Just slide the rod in from the right side, slide right jackstand under the end of the rod, grab handlebars and tilt the bike to the right, kick the other jackstand under the rod with your foot. Reverse order to remove stands. |
