After about 45 years of owning more different types of motorcycles than I can remember I got an 08 Uly XT. Man, its been years since I've enjoyed a bike more. I've been on this thing for 3 days from ding to dong and I still want more. I'm riding and wondering how in the heck could harley have shut something so good down. I like it so much I'm starting to sweat the future parts availability. But I keep telling myself that there are so many Buells out there that an aftermarket company will jump right on it. Man, I like this bike. LOL |

Congrats and welcome! It is a great feeling to find true love. IMO, Harley had a lack of vision and understanding with respect to Buell's customers and potential target market. If EBR gains some traction, though, Harley's euthanization of the original Buell brand could be the best thing that ever happened to Buell. Enjoy the bike. Enough resourceful and innovative people love them that you should be able to keep it running indefinitely. |

I bought an 08 XT 3 months ago with 5000 miles on it. Now it has another 5000 miles on it. The grin factor is huge! Likewise been riding since 1976. Haven't seen many forums that are as knowledgeable and enthusiastic as this one. |

Bosgarage57, Yeah, it came with the comfort kit and special ops heat shield. I ordered the 2" rox risers which I'll put on as soon as they hit the door. I may do the 2010 rear wheel before taking a long trip do I don't have to think about the bearing issue. And maybe some sort of cruise control. I'm still going through the mountain of info on this site and trying to get myself educated. But all in all this bike comes pretty much loaded as compared to other bikes I've owned. |

Nice XT! Enjoy it! I wasn't sure how much I would love my X when I got it, but it sure does love being whipped around, and it's comfortable too. Put some miles on it and ride safe! |

Motorbike, Thanks Buddy, I checked out your profile and you've got a great list of upgrades you've done to your bike. Especially what I like to refer to as "peace of mind" mods. Like rear wheel, washers, cable protection and the such. I'm more into making sure the dumb things don't leave me stranded as opposed to the "go faster" mods. Nice. |

The rear wheel upgrade is probably the best thing I have done, just for peace of mind. I used to look at the rear bearings and seals every time I got home from a ride and they always LOOKED good but the 08 bearings still left me stranded 75 miles from home. I'm glad it was only that far but it was still a hassle. Ride safe! |

Congrats, I feel the same. I sold a Honda cruiser after riding behind a friend with a 96 S2. Bought an 08 Uly XT off the floor, man I had no idea what I was missing out on. Subsequently picked up a 99 X1 in 2010 and love it too. Different animals, both great fun. I have original bearings in my Uly rear wheel. I worry about it, but I've had my Buell guru at dealer and local mechanic that's a Buell rider look at it, no problems. Have 23K miles on it, makes me nervous, may invest in a 2010 and be done with it before I get bitten. |

I picked up an 09X in 2010 from a friend. He put 12k on it and added the comfort kit, Maximum's heat shield, a pair of PIAA road lights, Palmer w/s brackets and a Baldwin seat. Oh yeah, a full set of Outdoorsman luggage and a set of Journeyman panniers. I don't worry about the bearings, 29+k on the bike now. Dyno'd it a few months ago, 90HP and 78Ft-lb. I LOVE this bike! Nookster- I have the EXACT bike. A 2008 XT, but you have the black wheels vs. mine which are the titanium color. I kinda prefer the black wheels... I have the comfort kit, too. The previous owner put the "X" look on my bike (high, front fender setup and headlight gill) and I like the "X" look to the XT look. Both are sharp though. I did all the basic stuff to mine when I got it, and have new, rear, wheel bearings, spacer and a belt waiting that I will put on when these Conti Motion tires wear out. Once sorted, these things are bitchen! Congrats on your purchase. Ride the piss out of that thing and have fun while you do it! |

Nookster, Congrats on the new Uly and great choice! I picked up an 09 XT in July after 5 years of wanting. Mine is blue, but after seeing the pic of yours I may be picking up some new black body work. |
