Hun, that Reevu helmet is pretty cool. Never seen it b4. How do you like yours?

From a safety standpoint it could possibly prevent or reduce injuries from getting hit from behind. Also help with the blind spots.

Djohnk.
Reevu.
Interesting concept with adjustable
sunvisor/rearview mirror just above the eyeline.
Backside of the helmet looks like a prism.
Light gets reflected twice before display
above the eyes.
Give 180 view directly behind you, good for about 20 metres. Image dimmed so night riding is not intrusive
Helmet is light. Visor opening small though.
Like the big visor on my Nolan when doing country trips.
Reevu great for city riding - good feel for whats going on around you.

I wear a Shoei Multitec right now because I got a super price on it off Ebay. I paid just over $300.00 and it was shipped for free. Prior to that I used a HJC which is a good helmet for the price but if I was buying a new helmet today, I would look at the Bell line up. They always made good quality product and their pricing seems fair.

I just picked up a Shoei Neotech. I wanted to try a modular and I won't own another helmet without a drop down visor after having one for the last four years. The Neotech flows a ton of air compared to my Scorpion EXO 1000. (which is the main reason I wanted to change) I tried all the modulars in my area and the Neotech is the one that fit my noggin the best. Get the one that fits your head. Looks and style mean nothing if you can't stand to wear it after 20 minutes.

I really like my Shark Evoline series 3. I bought mine from overseas but you can now get them from Revzilla. One handed operation from full face to open face. Built in sun visor, good air flow. I chose the Hakka paint scheme.

see i kinda like the shark evoline cause it looks like it would be a good one to ride open faced if you chose, and the shield stays down when the chin bar is up.

I have a huge head... probably one of the biggest in the world. I currently wear a XXXXL (thats 4X's) Zox Magnum and it fits me perfectly. It was the only helmet that fit my head in a 100 mile radius. But its a little noisy and completely feature-less. I also just recently put a huge scratch on it.

I went up to Rusty Palmer's in Honesdale PA recently and tried on every 2XL+ helmet in the store and the only one that fit me was a 4XL HJC C-MAX-II and while I liked the look and fit, it honestly felt even cheaper than my Zox.

I like the idea of modular, I like the idea of dual sport helmets even more, but I am very limited in my choices. Is anyone else as gifted/cursed in the cranial girth depart as me? If so, do you have any suggestions?

Schwiggy,

There is a guy here that has a large head: 67cm(!) he claims. He wears a Bell helmet made for auto racing that is XXXXL. I do not know the model, but I can ask him this weekend if you are interested.

I too, have a huge head. Lets face it, brains take a lot of space! It seems that HJC XXXL helmets fit me perfectly. I tried on a lot of other brands but their largest sizes were too tight.

I just bought an HJC CL-16 Shock this spring and like it quite well. You can see it in my profile pic. Thanks.

A couple of other considerations, if you wear glasses/sunglasses some helmets have padding that is in the way, or too tight. Also, you wont know until you get some road time, but wind noise is a factor. another possible problem is wind buffeting due to different shapes or visors.

I've tried on a few and I think I might go with the arai xd-4. I hate to order a helmet I can't try on and the local shops don't have the sharks.

www.webbikeworld.com has extensive helmet reviews, and they'll give you a very good idea of helmet A fits remotely like helmet Z. So if the Arai fits, but you can't find a Shark to compare, you'll at least have an idea if it's similar or a different shape.

I have an older model of this Arai. I like it a lot but the shape of the Physical visor can catch some serious air over 55 mph. One thing it shares with the Shark is a great field of view. You'll love how much you can see unobstructed. The Arai is also quite comfy. Let us know how you like it.

I am looking at 3 different helmets myself... but I think I have narrowed it down...

Shark Evoline 3rd place
Arai XD-4 2nd

And AGV AX-8 DS EVO 1st get great reviews on webikeworld and revzilla

And over $120 cheaper

Thanks fellas. I really liked the EVO helmet from AGV too but same as the shark not one to compare it to. I'll check that site out Hughlysses mentioned. I might just order me one cause it's gonna be a week before I get my bike. It's got time to arrive.

Well I ordered a shark evoline 3 series in the Hakka paint scheme. Should be here in a few days. I'll let everybody know what I think when I get it.

I really kinda wanted a dual sport for the cool factor but I ride different style bikes and really only the uly would have looked right with a DS helmet. This way the one lid should work well on all my toys.
