Just saying hello, bought myself an 09 XB12XT last week, retiring from road racing over here and want to do a bit of touring with my 6 year old son. Loving the Buell so far, want to add the headlamp grille and lower half-fender along with the upper fender from the XB12X if I can get them, not to many parts in Ireland or the UK though! If anyone knows where I might get them in the USA please let me know. |

Welcome, and good luck with your new ride. I was in Ireland in `97, had a great time. I did not do any riding there, but never met nicer people anywhere. Beautiful scenery too. And the Guinness, aaaaaaaaah! |

Congrats on the new bike and welcome. I live in western Pennsylvania now but I grew up and got my first bike in Sligo. When I told riding buddies at home that I'd bought a Ulysses they had to get online to see what it looked like - seems like Buells are few and far between over there. This is a great site - you'll get answers to all your questions and to ones you never had here! Jesse |

Welcome and enjoy your new Uly. Our XT's initial purpose was as the two up bike for our son as pillion. Hope yours works well for you. "And the Guinness, aaaaaaaaah!" I've heard from several people that Guinness across the pond tastes sooooo much better than here? I really enjoy me a sleeve or two of the frothy stuff. Nom nom nom. What makes it so much better over yonder? |

I was told that it is not pasteurized over there. It must be pasteurized to be brought over the pond. Some folks just said, "It doesn`t travel well". Whatever the case, it is waaaay better over there. |

You also need to make sure your local stateside pub pulls the pint correctly. Some use CO2 taps just like for "regular" beers, but I believe Guinness needs to be pulled with nitrogen? |

Come to Canada. Guinness kegs are flown here from Dublin. It's very same as here as in Ireland. |

Congrats on the bike. I bought an '09 XT about 18 months ago. It's been over the water a couple of times already and is perfect for the roads around Dublin! |

"I was told that it is not pasteurized over there. It must be pasteurized to be brought over the pond. Some folks just said, "It doesn`t travel well". Whatever the case, it is waaaay better over there." It used to be made in Park Royal, London but Keg is only made in Dublin now. They do still make bottle stuff in Africa. and its VERY good. All REAL beer uses Nitrogen as Co2 adds a taste to the product and spoils it. AKA ever wondered why Coke does not taste the same from other places. That metallic taste is a overcharge of the Co2. All the Guin is from Dublin and it travels well. Its how it is treated after it gets there that is the problem. A bit like a Buell in some ways I guess. |

Some one in Ireland also told me, "Yeah, we pasteurize it over here too. Past your eyes, and down your throat!" That cracked me up! It makes me cringe when a barkeep over here, just blasts Guinness into a glass and serves it to you. Uly should be a great bike for Ireland. (Trying to get back on topic) sorry |

Its so wrong then that I don't even drink Guinness! Haven't tried it in along time so might have to get on to it again. |

Guinness is good but I prefer Murphy's. If any of you are Guinness drinkers & get the chance try a Murphy's. Chris C |
