I bet that would be expensive. It got me to thinking that a copper coated muffler would look cool though! |

Has anyone had a rusted out OEM muffler or is it just surface rust that worry folk? |

I just did not like the look of the stock black fading to gray fading to rust. I'm hoping my new ceramic coat satin black lasts a few years. Thanks. |

30,000 miles on a 9sx, riding in all sorts of conditions, and I would have to respray that can often. Always surface rust, never anything significant. Ask CitySlicker, I think he abused one of those things about as bad as they can be abused... |

Yes a rusting can does not look great. I do not know what others do but the can and rubber are, most of the time the first things I change on a bike. Cans for less weight, power, style and SS so no rust. Rubber if the OEM ones are that bad on a new bike. |

Speaking of weight, just out of curiosity, I weighed my stock can when I had it off for ceramic coating. 17.5 lbs! No wonder they mounted it as low as they could...
