three choices for the ABS: one of them is OFF Don't get me excited like that. That is for the traction control. They didn't give any indication that the ABS can be switched off. |

I've got my eye on the new Triumph Tiger Explorer. Boy, I wish I had waited when I bought the Ducati Multistrada 1200S; back then the only other game in town (that was of any interest to me) was the BMW R1200GS, which was way too big for me. Have a hunch I'll be selling the Multi here fairly soon...great bike, but not quite what I really wanted. The big-bore ADV-style offerings are really starting to expand. I especially like the Explorer cuz they finally had the smarts to put cruise control on a TBW bike. And there are a lotta long straight roads in New Mexico (on the way to great twisty roads, of course). --Doc |

Sorry 'bout that. Yes traction control. Not ABS. Man I need to get more sleep. Beautiful bike! Congrats and Happy Thanksgiving. |

That new Tiger 1200 is really nice , The main reason I didn't wait for it was because the Triumph dealer network just isn't as big as Yamaha. I still want to do an AK trip so that was a concern for me, and Triumph adv bikes have all been a little tall for my short inseam. Bet its a sweet ride though

i haven't seen any specs on the tri yet. is it as heavy as the beemer? i read the comparo of the gs and s10 in this months issue of mcn. the s10 is a bit heavier than the gs, but got great marks for handling even in the rough stuff. love to see a shoot between all three. Dcc46, i saw your bike about a month ago at the dealership. it's a beaut. looks like alot of fun! |

The new Triumph Tri-1951cc "Extra Super Duper Dakar Adventure" bike will soon be available to all. It will have ABS, TAC, ADAET, ODETI and a selectable GIT mode. It will also come with several option packs like 7.1 Dolby Surround, run flat tires, never wear out rubber, a Lifetime "Drive through" Burger King Whopper (with cheese) deal and my personal favourite A "little red button" on the dash that goes "WHIZZ" if you push it. |

Triumph still needs to get that muffler down and out of the way like Buells been doing for years. Even the new Duc Panigale has the correctly placed underslung muffler. Why put that can where it is an eye sore. |

"my personal favourite A "little red button" on the dash that goes "WHIZZ" if you push it." Just a light hearted ref to "The Five Element" via the Red Dwarf. They are STILL making a profit today which is quite astounding given the Worlds money problems right now. Not my type of bike but Man you got to admire what the they have done with the company. |
