OK. I know that the ECM diag port uses TTL [0,5]V levels but what I don't know, and what I need, is the communications protocol information: port setup parameters like speed, word length, and stop bits, and the command sequence to get the thing to dump diagnostics information while the engine is running. I'm building my own GPS enhanced data logger so that I can analyze engine performance relative to the type of riding I'm doing hwy vs city and at different elevations. The hardware part of this project is a no-brainer but I need to know how to get the port to continuously dump the sensor information. That information was conspicuously missing from the data logger (ecmspy?) website. The Bike is a 2008 12xt. |

Even an irreverent reply would be preferable to no comments at all. |

I'm not sure about what you're talking but i did some ride recording on my 06 Uly with the ecmspy that was installed on my Palm TX, but that of course is for bikes up to 2007. |

thanks for the followups...However, the information posted is for DDFI 1 and 2 ECMs. Mine is a 2008 XT and it uses the DDFI-3 which is a different animal. No such luck finding information about it. :^( |
