When adjusting the front fork compression damping on the lower fork, there is the outer piece that looks similar to the top preload adjuster. It says nothing about adjusting this in the manual when setting up the suspension. It has two cut outs on each side like you could be put a wrench on it to adjust it. I took a picture if you can't picture what I am talking about. What does that outer piece do?

Holds it together. It is the "seat" that the adjuster needle sits in. It is a replaceable part in the fork lower. It is NOT an adjustment. It is merely for installation and removal. |

Ok thanks Joe. I figured thats what it was but was always curious about it. I have never touched it during adjustments. |
