The more I check over the bike the more items I find that are new. Buell seems to have dropped the brake deposit system on the front end. It now has Nissin HH pads. I have just changed them out as I prefer another type myself. I reset the suspension as per the manual and this worked as a good base to start from. The Scorpion rubber is ok-ish and a good all-rounder. The problem is that it is a single compound tyre and does not like to be pushed hard once you are close to the edge of the tyre. I seem to recall the same thing with my old 06 bike. Mind you I do like a bit of "roundabout" surfing which can be a bit hard on the rubber. I have moved the head breathers to the plus side of the air filter as I see no reason to burn oil vapour. It has a Piper air filter so it can be cleaned of oil deposits. It will be interesting to see if this makes a change on this young engine. My "must have" air horn is now fitted. Must have because it will save other peoples lives in the parts of London I ride in. I look forward to seeing people leap into the air. Cheap fun and a worthy cause. Its almost as good as a quart of Rye. I do like this version of the bike but at the moment it is a bit to civil for me. Once the engine/gearbox is run in, PR2 rubber and a good can I would think things will improve some. |

It is a shame they used the different headers and can to meet euro emissions, you are going to need a full system to really wake it back up. At least the exchange rate won't kill you like it would getting a nice full system here in the states from a company like Remus and Termi |

Awesome! Too bad they did not make enough of them for everyone! |

I think the most noted thing is the proper oil cooling with this bike. My oil cooler gets hot right off the bat and is the way it should be. I think those of you with the early bikes would benefit from making sure the oil cooler is doing its job right. (Message edited by uly_man on July 03, 2011) |

The cooler shouldn't get hot right off the bat. There should be a temp bypass valve that would prevent the oil from going through the cooler until the oil is up to temp. |

Crackhead, Buells have no thermostat for the oil coolers, they are constant flow always. That is why many of us tape over the front of the oil cooler scoop come fall. |

I just shove a shop rag into the scoop for winter. |

Well it is goo to know that there isn't a t-stat built into the Buell coolers. I will have to add one if I ever add a cooler to my Blast. |

Moving the breathers, as before, has made a big difference with idle and vibration. The front brake needed bleeding and with new fluid is quite good now. The can cable needed adjustment. I have added 6cc of heavy oil to each fork. This fixes the front dive a treat and now that I have sorted the suspension set up for me it rides great. The Scorps are doing great but I know the PR2s will be the icing on the cake as been here before. |
