I just bought a set of new Gobi bags. I LOVE these things! So, my like new Journeys are up for sale. What are they worth? $350?

Nice. The cases the Uly should have come with. $350 is about what I sold mine for. (Message edited by itileman on May 24, 2011) |

blackdog, correct me if I'm wrong, but those just snapped right into your stock OEM Uly side racks, right? No modifications? |

Those things are huge looking. Maybe need to paint them to match the ULY frame. |

Wow those bad boys looks like they'd hold a lot of... soda. |

They are not that big, they make my bike the same width as the old Journeys did. Yes they fit right on the Buell mounts. There is a nice set in the classifieds on ADVRider right now. |

Nice! Do they lock to the bike like the factory bags? I like the "stuff from the top" design. You need some Erik Buell Racing stickers to cover the KTM logo though... |

Blackdog...when you say "Buell mounts" you mean the metal side racks your Journey bags mounted to or the frame holes? So you are selling your Journey bags without mounts then? Euly |

Eulysses. They fit the mounts/racks that the Buell Journeys fit on. Just take the Journeys off and install the Gobis. I am selling just the Journeys not the mounts. |

Thanks BD. So why you like those big Gobi's over your Journeys? Is there a back box too? Euly |

The KTM Gobi cases have about 30L of usable space inside. The outer shell is double thick and can be used to hold water between the walls. Normally, they fit the KTMs with the two small rivets at the bottom edges facing the front, lower than the back. The rivets can be tapped out and a spigot installed. They fit the Uly rack in the opposite direction because of the Uly latch being in front, not the back as most HB rigs. So, the left case goes on the right side, right case to left side. I had them on my Uly for about a year or so, but recently sold them to shed some weight and width. Great cases, nap well too. |

Eulysses. The Gobies are top loaders. They don't leak and are very strong. Latches are tough. You can leave them unlocked so it's easy to get stuff without looking for a key. I believe there is a matching top box. |

Can someone confirm whether or not the Uly's passenger footpegs still fold all the way up with the Gobis installed? al |

Not quite, but they do stay up at about 3/4 to full up, even over rough terrain. |

Might be strong enough to lay over on and save some skin on an asphalt slide. Now why would I even think of such a thing??? |
