Just finished a ride from Osceola, MO to OKC, OK. You might say I took the "scenic route" since the trip included Branson West, MO, Eureka Springs, AR, and Ozark, AR. Overall, the 300 mile trip to Osceola turned into an almost 800 mile return trip. I took 13S from Osceola, then south of Branson West jumped on 86W until it intersected 23S. I took 23S into Eureka Springs then enjoyed the "Pig Trail" portion of the road and continued south all the way to Caulksville, AR. After stopping for some grub in Caulksville, I meandered west (hoping to get a picture in Buell, AR but I couldn't find a sign) into Oklahoma and eventually found 9W which led me back to OKC. This XT is simply an amazing machine. There aren't very many bikes out there that offer superb handling while navigating Ozark Mountain roads and are still comfortable enough to rack up 800 miles in a day. |

Pkforbes87...Do you have the tall seat? I have the stock seat (low seat) and my ass starts to hurt after 80 miles! |

I have gone up to 900 miles in a day with the stock low seat...no issues here...although mine had be broke in about 40,000 miles at that point. I love my Uly(s) too! |

Yes, I ride with an '06 seat (all seats were "tall" on '06 bikes) and love it. It's got more padding, the bottom of the seat pan doesn't put any pressure on ECM connectors (unlike the stock '09 seat) and best of all - the thicker seat means I feel less heat than I did with the stock seat. Most importantly - I use a wooden bead seat cover. Space between the beads provides more than enough airflow to eliminate any heat, and it's just much more comfortable for long rides. FYI, I paid $10 for a regular auto seat cover from Wal-Mart, then cut it down to size. It covers 100% of the rider and passenger seating areas, and cost a fraction of what a motorcycle-specific cover would have. I strap a cargo net down over the passenger seat to keep the seat cover from moving.
