My brother dumped her, so I need some help / advice. I have the parts book, so I know the part numbers. Anyway I need a turn signal lens and bulb. But was wandering if the bulb is specific or if I can go to the auto parts store and probably get one. Also what bulbs other than OEM people have used. And frame puck glue. Got knocked off, and was "stuck" back on. It held all the way home (150 miles), but you can see gaps and I want to seal it back up/on. Thanks for any help! |

I can't help with the Frame Puck glue, but I'd pull a bulb out of a turn signal that didn't get broken, and take it to the local auto parts store and get a replacement. |

Take a good look at the base of the bulb- the number is there. I think it's 1003. I can pull a bulb and look when I get home. The puck? I don't know what to say there. You need to to stick REAL good tho, so it doesn't just fall off when you "use" it! |

Hi guys, Pulled the turn signal off, and took out the bulb. Going to go down to the parts store later today and see if they have a replacement. I then put the signal back on. I can get away with just a bulb and lens cover. While I was at it, I moved the spacer to the inside when I put it back on, and did the same to the right side. Hopefully this might help during any other naps For the puck, I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I'll look at some high strength adhesive. Maybe even the 3M spray stuff, then black RTV the edges. I'd like to buy a new one, but don't have the cash right now, and am not going to expect my brother to pay for it. - He didn't ask to ride it. I pretty much pushed him to. He went up the driveway too fast and when he went to hit the rear brake found only air, that's went he hit the front, and dumped it. He is used to riding an electra or roadking... Things happen, I'm just glad he didn't give up and spent the rest of the day riding the bike! |

My brother (who generally lacks coordination) rides a CityX. He asked to borrow my Uly 2 days before we left for homecoming last year. He wanted to head to a parking lot to help a friend learn to ride (IMO, he should NOT be the one teaching!). He would ride my bike, his friend ride his. I hesitated (he has a long list of tip overs, by Uly is pristine), but he IS my brother. I told him he has NO CHOICE but to bring it back in 1 piece since we were leaving for homecoming in a coupe of days. He comes back and sheepishly says " is the clutch lever the same on our bike?" WHAT??!! Hi was wearing his Chuck Taylors with his too-long laces and they caught on the shifter as he stopped and he couldn't get his foot to the ground. bent lever, scraped rear slider, scraped hand guard, scraped frame puck etc. Oh well, what are brother's for, if not crashing our bikes?? |

>>>Oh well, what are brother's for, if not crashing our bikes?? Yup! Hey, my other brother Crashed my KLR. A year and half later still not on the road. Got all the externals put back together, but the clutch is not engaging / working. Don't have the funds to tear into it. Him? - He took off to Arizona with my DVD player and some other stuff a year ago... |

Clean the back of the puck with brake cleaner (dries without greasy residue). Spray a rag good with it and wipe down the frame too. Spray the adhesive (the 3M stuff rocks!) in a medium coat on the frame (you can draw an outline, and mask it off so you don't have overspray), AND on the puck. Let them air-dry separately for about 30 seconds or so, line it up good, and stick it on. Tape it in place and keep it warm and dry for about 12 hours. |

Not on a Buell (yet..knock wood), but I've done plenty of rub-strip replacement on cars. And headliner replacements too. |

If you use 3m tape primer on both parts, you don't have to wait 12 hours or tape it in place. note: as soon as it touches that's it. I used it in the printing industry to mount sticky back to the rubber printing plates. Use tri-methel-ethel-keytone in place of the brake cleaner. Don't huff it! It will wash the ink off a dollar bill. I put outdoor carpet in my jeep with the 3m tape primer and it never came loose or migrated. |

Ourdee, I used MEK while in the industrial painting business, good stuff. Wish I had access to a lot of the things I did back then! And great suggestion. But I'm trying to do this on the cheap. I can get my hands on some free brake cleaner and 3M spray. Also have some black RTV sealant I could "caulk" the edges with. If I buy a quart of MEK, and a 1/2 pint of 3m primer(If I can find / get it locally), I'm already up over $20.00. I can get a new puck shipped for less than 40.00. But tommorow I'll go to the local automotive paint supply store and see what they have to offer. I'm 60+ miles out from the nearest large town. Pull up 72542 zip on a map Thanks for the help fella's! |

I think MEK may be on a "controlled list" now. |
