I just replaced my belt with a brand new one. Now, with the bike still on the stand the rear wheel seems reluctant to turn. It turns, but not very easily. Is this just a product of the new, tighter belt? I'm pretty sure, but just want to confirm. |

Yea, they're definitely tighter when new. There's actually a coating on the teeth that gets burnished into the surface as it runs; I imagine that's got something to do with it loosening up somewhat after a few miles. |

Did you over-torque the axle? Mine turned fine, no difference felt, with a new belt fitted. |

Nope, didn't over-torque the axle. Used my brand new torque wrench to get it spot on. |

I'm thinking (and I think i read somewhere) that having it jacked up puts the most tension on the belt, making it tighter than it would be if it was on the ground. |

It will be more stubborn till it loosens up. You are correct about additional tension when its off the ground. |

Send me the old belt and I will properly dispose of it for you. Let me know how much shipping is. |

The old belt will be kept in a safe place on my bike as an insurance policy. Thanks for the offer though! |
