I've got a 2007 XB12X, bought the ECMSpy cable from americansportbike.com. But I'm a cheap @$$ and don't want to pay for the program. Any ideas on where I can get it for free? |

So you want to steal it? The old version is free, but discontinued, but you can find it with a google search. The current version requires you make a donation to a hospital, I don't recall the amount. Or, you can download TunerPro, which is free and does more than ECMspy. |

Technically its not a ECMspy cable that you have, everyone just calls it that because thats what it is most used for, so yes it will work. Similar to calling a crow bar a "crate opener", or a hammer a "nail smasher". |

Froggy, I can't believe you didn't call me on the "and" in place of the proper "an". You are slipping. |

Reset the TPS this morning. What a difference?! I didn't think it would make such an impact. Wow. |

The Throttle Position Sensor is what tells the ECM how much you have the throttle open. The sensor needs to be occasionally reset, as if it is set to an incorrect value, your fuel mapping will be way off. On 2008+ bikes, you can do this reset with a combonation of throttle inputs. On a 99-07, you need a program like ECMspy and a cable to do it. |

It's an absolute snap if you watch the video that's on Youtube. Walks you right thru it. |
