I just want to know where you got that Held top case rack Hunn. I can't find that anywhere online. I'm still looking for a top case rack. Don't like the OEM one, thinking about the Twisted Throttle rack...... But anyways, sorry to hear you're selling the Uly. Could I ask why? Looks like a great bike. |

Sayitaintso : I'll keep you in mind. Uly_dude : The top rack was sold to me by Twisted Throttle as Givi top case carrier two years ago. When I opened the package it turned out to be made by Held in Germany. Reason for selling the Uly are many. Been riding Enduros and dual sports since I've been 16. They are great in loose stuff, but not for long distance traveling with luggage. Hence I bought the Uly as a ADV bike. For sure its a great streetbike, comfy cruising at 80mph all loaded up, the Misses likes the pillion seat, but it does not like the loose stuff! Front wheel is to small, rear wheel to wide, tire choice sucks, steering angle is scary, standing in the pegs leans you too far forward, power delivery is not the greatest for dirt, first gear is way to tall. I'm worried about parts in the future. If I would have the money I would buy a second bike and park the Uly as the occasional super fun street ride and preserve her for a long time. But $ are tight for me right now. My goal is to purchase a bike that does better in the loose stuff with more tire choices and allows me touring comfort and parts easy available for a long time. Hate to sell my Uly, always been putting big grins on my face, but times are tough, I only can afford one bike. (Message edited by hunn on March 02, 2011) |

Hunn, Thanks for keeping me in mind. Many have parted with their Uly for the first reason you gave (not dirt worthy enough) and everything you said is dead on accurate. I have a feeling many Ulys will be sold over the next couple years for the second reason you gave (worry about parts and/or support)....again dead on accurate imo. |

Well, if I had the $,my top choice would be a BMW F800GS, KTM 950/990 or the new Triumph 800 XC Tiger. For right now, till this economy for us working middle class people improves I will consider any polycylindered Dual Sport that has at least a 19 inch front tire and more than 649cc. We'll see what happens. "Schaun wir mal." |

All excellent bikes. I am partial to the Ducati L twin but too street oriented probably. |
