2010. The bikes got better every year. Any fueling issues can be resolved with a Race ECM from Erik Buell Racing. |

2006/2007. I remember demoing the 2008 with the different throttle ramp and it was anemic off the line compared to my 06'. That said, I wouldn't mind having that 2010 but they are rare as hen teeth. |

I've been pleased in that my '07 seems to perform without fuel issues other than those that I've inflicted or introduced by mucking around with ECM Spy. That's why I saved the original config and always revert back to it after I figure out some other creative way to alter it and do more harm than good. I'd like to see what difference the Erik Buell Racing ECM would be in a bike I'm already happy with, but that's just my own neuroses, I mean curiosity. ULYKan (Bob) has piqued my curiosity with his recent posts re: the new units. Mine idles well, pulls hard, keeps a set of plugs clean, runs like a scalded dog and generally makes me happy each time I ride it, whether it be hot, cold, raining, dry, fully loaded...you name it. My '09 ran well, but was missing 'something'. I thought it was fine other than the rpm hunting about a bit while steady state cruising on slab. The Erik Buell Racing race ecm has given me what I knew was missing. Throttle response is now immediate, no hunting when tooling along, pulls clean and strong from anywhere in the rpm range, more power down low in the range and no hesitation when cracked open. Mileage has remained the same (averaging 48). Plus, all the latest fan logic and a high idle at cold startup. I'm a happy customer. |

Everybody knows the 06's run and look the best.

It has nothing to do with the year - rather the color. Black is - and will always be - faster. It's just a fact. . |

Oh, and I cannot tell you if later ones run better, but at 54,000+ miles my '06 runs better with every added mile. |

I'll back Vern on this.... My '06 Orange Uly turned 5yo at the beginning of the month and has just shy of 54,000 miles. Only thing it has needed is a better rider. |

Enough of your barricade banter, the gauntlet has been thrown!! By the way Vern, wrap that mason jar in a pillow, we might need that along the way, you know, for medicinal purposes!! |

You might as well pack your stuff.....they are gonna need all the help they can get. Those black Ulys make good ditch fodder with their natural ditch filler colors! |
