Anybody ever use Mystic 20W50 sny-dino blend with diesel designations. Orielly's carries a 2 gallon container for 29 bucks. That would be good for 3 oil changes with some left over. Does anybody use Rottella 5W40 Synthetic or is that too thin? (Message edited by electraglider_1997 on August 28, 2010) |

At least one guy here ran it a couple of years ago. IIRC he was one of the guys that REALLY hated the heat issues and he got rid of the bike not too long afterwards. He claimed it worked fine. |

I have used Rotella 5W40. Currently have it in my 12R. Seems to work fine. Haven't blown it up yet. I think it's in my Uly too, don't remember. |

WalMart stopped carrying the Syntec 20W50 also. Wonder what's up?!?! Full synthetic oil is *expensive* now... |

Mystic or Rotella? Rotella. Here's the thread; it was Badwebber JMHinkle: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/277290.html EG, you commented in the thread. I guess you forgot about it. |

PepBoys has it. Mobil 1 15-50 $7.50ish per quart. They carry Lucas, Royal Purple, Castrol and Kendall 20-50 syn also. All around the same price. |

I was just at my local Wal-Mart last night and they had a endcap setup with Mobil 15-50w sync for $21.00 I would have bought some but I still have plenty of HD syn 20-50 which I purchased at Ukes open house with his 20% off sale. |

Cyclonedon, Buy it up. Too far away for me though. I'd buy 10 of them and it'd be some time before I'd need oil again. |

Electraglider, I use HD Syn 3 because I can run it on the primary also and I don't want to rise burning out my stator with the Mobil 1 which I thought some others on here had problems with. when I was purchasing the Mobil 20w-50 v-twin it was costing the same as the HD Syn3 but when I purchase the HD oil at the dealer's open house, I get a 20% discount which makes it decent price. |

I usually buy oil filters with the Harley Visa Card Rewards certificates I get every now and then. I suppose I'll try some of that HD Syn 3 oil. Maybe I'll get some of that Rotella Syn 5W40 and mix it half with 20W50 Synthetic. I have no problem mixing oils no matter what some of the experts here might think of it. |

My wally world still has some, but I'm flat broke right now. On sell for $21.00, would love to buy a couple gallons. |

the reason I mentioned that wal-mart had it on an endcap was that usually when a large chain store has a product on a endcap it typically in all their stores. Or at least that's what Home Depot does, I work there so I should know. Why don't someone else check out their local wal-mart to see if that's the case? |

I stopped in last night on the way home and our local WallyMart had the 5 QT jug for $21, and had 15W50 pure synth. And yes, it was on an end cap. Wayne |

I just bought a jug @ WalMart for $21 on an end cap. While they may yet drop it, it hasn't been dropped yet I don't think. |

Omaha has quite a few WalMarts and none of them carry even the quart bottle anymore. |

I can still get the 15W50 quarts at auto supply but for too much dinero. |

I don't know the answer to this situation but it appears that either stores who have it in stock are closing it out or Omaha stores have opted out. In that case you may be out of luck or pay more for the same product elsewhere. Since I only change mine every 5K miles and have at least 3 changes on hand I only bought one jug. If (when) they stop carrying it I'll switch to something else but will cross that bridge when I get there. Next time I'm in a WalMart store that has it I may buy another jug for good measure. Good luck EG. If you ever happen down this way send a pm and we'll get together. Bob |

Ulykan, Thanks for the invite. Never been to Wichita and can only think that it is probably even hotter there than up here in Nebraska. Getting rain up here as I write this and it is cooling down into the 70's, so nice. |

Hey EG, Not raining here yet but hopefully soon. I'm probably about 350 or so miles south of you but maybe we could meet half way before the snow flies. Perhaps late September or early Oct. we could meet just south of the border for lunch or coffee or just shoot the breeze. Who knows, we could just meet and say howdy. Anyway, think about it. Bob |
