I'd love to! I've seen photos of the route and all seams like a great ride. I'm going to be in that area from 2-5 Sep staying at the Ironhorse lodge and a group from the Motorcycle Tourers Forum. |

Rotorhead, I work week days but we can ride Sat or Sun. Florida lime, it is a horse/hiking/motorcycle single track trail in the Cherokee national Forest. I have never done it myself but from what i understand it is of moderate difficulty. Your going to need some dual sport tires. I wouldn't attempt it with sport or sport touring shoes! I'll be riding my DR 650 with some 50/50 tires. I will PM you guys my ph no. |

I'll be bringing both sets of shoes for dirt and street to ride for the weekend. Way too many great places to explore in the area. A post that has some pics of the trails in the area and only the trail head for 81. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23 4680 |

A couple of years ago myself, another Uly BadWeB rider(Orangulius) and a Duc/ Uly BadWeB rider(Gotj) did those three water crossings on the trail road through there. We did not do any of the single trail though.
I had Michelin Pilot Road II's. Most of our ride was dry except for a few water crossings and a couple of mud ruts. |

There's also a great road that runs from Cade's Cove and dumps out on Deal's Gap. You can catch air in a few places. FUN!!!! |

There is one that parallels the Cherohola... it would be easy to do on the Uly, just gravel. I blew up a perfectly good KLR-250 on that road... |

There are TONS of gravel forest service roads around Cherohala that would be easy on a Uly. |

There is one that parallels the Cherohola... it would be easy to do on the Uly, just gravel. Some maps will show that as NC-81. If you pick it up by the Joyce Kilmer turnoff, it is gravel until well after it crosses back under the Cherohala near the Tennessee line. There it becomes North River Rd. After that, if you take the turn towards Bald River Falls, it alternates between gravel and pavement. It surprised me to find sections of pavement, until I found out you can get to Bald River Falls from the Tennessee side of the Cherohala, off River Rd. I wondered how all the Harley cruisers got there when I saw them at the falls. |
