They have a very long break-in period but get better as they age. Aerostich Combat touring boots. I have a Lite pair for summer and the regular ones for winter. +1 on combat lites. They're real clod hoppers at first, though. Pricey, but bomb proof. The black soles hold the foot pegs better than the brown/wedge soles. | ||

I'm using the Icon Accelerant boots. Incredibly comfortable, safe, and waterproof too. I have no complaints. They'll run you about a buck-twentyfive. | ||

Take a look at the Infinity TCX; expensive, but worth it... Got a pair in November, have ridden to work in the PNW every day since then, never wet - - once. Not too hot in summer (for us...), feet were never cold in winter. Daily commute is 78 miles. Good tread for walking off the bike, great support, fits under normal jeans (relaxed fit) none of the plasticy space-man crap... Most money I've ever spent on any motorcycle clothing accessory, but worth ever penny...  | ||

Aerostich Combat Touring Lite. Long break in, but they're very comfortable. Not meant to be waterproof, but if you keep mink oil on them they won't leak. They've molded to my feet and I've never had a more comfortable boot. You can find them used sometimes, but like new. Folks don't want to spend the time required to break in. I have the shorter version of the Sonics by JR... Meteor I think. Just a velcro flap and the insole strap to put on/off. Comfortable, waterproof and size 12 fits my 11 1/2 - 12 EEE feet OK. A little narrow but they broke in fine and have a good stiff sole when standing on the pegs. Pretty comfortable walking about as well. I like Rocket's boots, they fit me. The Euro boots I like are always too narrow. | ||

I wear these funky things when it's really warm out. Good ventilation, good protection, they look good with riding pants, and they scare people. Icon Field Armor Boots - $130  I wouldn't go hiking in them, though. Skiing? Maybe. | ||

I have those joe rocket sonic boots. Pro's are cost (affordable), how well the clips and velcro work (easy on, and easy off), and flexibility. They offer decent protection and are easy to walk in. Cons: * Lots of it is vinyl, not leather, and it cracks with time. * They don't hold up to kick starters, and I ripped out the entire instep. * No steel toe at all. Very soft. * No rigidity in the sole at all. Very soft. I use them for enduro now, as I like the high protection and support. But they look pretty ratty for street bike use, especially with the epoxy and steel I put in to repair the ripped out instep.  . I know though, that if the foot ever gets caught between a rock or stump and the bike, the boots will simply mean my compound fractures are all wrapped in leather for the trip to the E.R. :/ | ||

Wired2, The Joe Rocket Sonic Boots are 100% waterproof (I can attest), so they don't breathe all to well. I bought them for my cross-country trip last summer. I now live in SoCal and use the boots for daily commuting and weekend rides. Very easy to get on & off. It doesn't rain too much out here (like it did MI) but I still like the fact that I don't have to worry if it DOES happen to rain. If/when these boots wear out, I would definitely buy another pair for daily riding. | ||

I had the same Joe Rocket boots and they BOTH tore in half after only a year. Will invest in some SIDI next or Alpinestars. | ||

got the JR's too and although they might not breath all that great when it came to winter time and was below freezing, with one pair of socks, they kept the feet warm. the sole on them aren't that great on wet roads that haven't seen any rain in a while and have a bit of oil built up in them. you just have to be a little cautious. | ||

I have a problem finding any boots that will fit (I have a very narrow foot "A"). Belleville Boots (Belleville 700) makes a great boot that I have been using for the past 5 years. Water proof fits great.  | ||

I wear my Alpinestars SMX+ religiously. Yes, they look like moon boots, but I don't wear them for style. Maximum protection is all the matters. I broke my ankle once, and I never, ever want to repeat that experience.  And they do fit under my pants. | ||

You might want to look at the TCX Airtech. They are goretex but have a mesh like material for airflow in the summer. I've had them for about 6 months now. Comfortable and airy... | ||

I have the TCX infinity boots and can also say they're worth the money. They're COMPLETELY waterproof, comfortable and look like a fairly normal pair of shoes with pants over them. | ||
