Wolf, save that song. That would be perfect to put in a video of the "Dud" on his new HD getting overrun by a ton of Buells in the twisties. Dude - get real! He'd never get overrun by Buells in the twisties. Twisties are why they invented TRAILERS. |

Funny....my old Blast would have SMOKED what he rode off on.... I thought it was funny in that if that was supposed to appeal to people and motivate them to buy a Sportster.....it would only motivate the mouth breathing waterheads...funny and stupid at the same time... |

"mouth breathing waterheads" I'm trying desperately not to laugh out loud at work.... but.... dangit! Buell-bashing aside, that was STILL an incredibly lame vid. I'm still a bit unclear... is the "undertall" chick a standard option with that Sportster, or does she cost extra? ~SM |

She's the option to turn it into a rigid (by completely compressing the rear suspension). |

Somehow I don't think a lot of Buellers will be giving up 50HP and 20* of lean angle so they can ride a cookie-cutter entry level bike just so they don't get "beat up". Not shown: the chick then kicked his ass and took his cute little Sporty. |

Ummm... do I dare make the comment about her inability to make ANYTHING rigid? (ok, I'm sorry that I couldn't resist that one) Thanks for the setup for the free shot. |

I own a Road King, but idiotic cr@p like that is why my next bike will likely be a Triumph. |

My initial take on the vid, and i could be wrong, was that it is coincidental that the 'dud' is wearing a buell shirt; not that he was supposedly portraying a 'buell owner', but maybe just an average joe. Fwiw, that dude used to road race an XB quite well. I also believe the chick is a film student and this was an attempt at some sort of effort in that direction. Regardless, the cheese factor is quite high, but like i said before, they gotta do something with all that spare time, its not like they're busy selling motorcycles |

Here's something I noticed this weekend. Observe a group of "stereotypical" (you know what I mean) Harley riders riding up to a red stoplight. As they slow, it is nearly inevitable that one of them will blip their throttle (don't need to do that on the modern ones, boys - if you do, get it to the shop). In a fascinating form of subliminal communication, at least one or two other riders will blip their throttles in response as they come to a stop at the light. Harley one: "Vroom! Pop!" Harley two and three: "Vroom!" "Vroom!" Harley one: "Vroom!" Harley four: "Vroom!" And then they ride away. Watch for it the next time you see a clutch of hogs roll up. Or a bunch of squids. They do it too. What are they saying to each other? Fascinating. Oh, and I really do love my Harley Street Bob - it just has no H-D logo on it anymore.
And sometimes I take it on dirt roads. And the spokes have a little corrosion on them. And I wear ATGATT on it. (Message edited by hooper on August 03, 2010) |

Blipping is a mating call. Riders with the blippage tend to be non-sexually discriminating and will blip with others regardless of the sex of the other blipper. This has not been noted to be seasonal, riders will engage in blippage regardless of time of year or phase of the moon. |

Blipping, that`s funny.Sometimes I think some Harleys don`t have idle screws. Mine does, and runs well. |

Pretty pathetic, I actually feel sorry for H-D. OK, the feeling has passed. That has got to be the most cheezy vid ever and to think the stealership actually put their endorsement on it says alot on about their character as a business..... The humor in that is the stealership putting their name on that crap. |

Maybe HD should come out with chrome plated auto blippers so your bike would blip and you could just sit there looking cool. |

If they really wanted to sell "auto-blippers", they would have to have a skull or concho and leather fringe option. |

...and dont forget the eye patch. In order to fully realize the correct pirate impersonation whilst throttle blipping... the assless chaps should be worn backwards. |

Maybe I should have filmed the part of my trip where all the bikes started right up except for the Harley. Ten bikes on a trip to SW Colorado and the only HD had us all waiting. |

Second that, Terra. On my last long trip, it was my Uly and an XT riding amongst a sea of Harleys. We had to fix most of 'em! Nobody thought it unusual to turn a wrench in a parking lot just to get back from breakfast or do a bump-start. I'm so glad the Uly held up, 'cuz if even the littlest thing went wrong those guys would have forever thought MY bike was unreliable! |
