Author Message   Rr_eater Posted on Saturday, June 26, 2010 - 06:16 pm:        I remember reading somewhere about not using the saddle bags without the top case rack installed because it will break something?? What am I missing? I have removed the top case rack only, the cross bar underneath is still installed, because one of the 2 top bolts tore out of the tail bracket. Can I continue to use the saddle bags as is while I get the tail grab bar repaired? The answer lies within, grasshoppah... Sides with no top is fine. Top with no sides, no good. Top with no side CASES, but WITH the RACKS - also just fine. I think this was back in 06 or 07. I had taken the top rack off, because I do not like the way it looks, but after that series of posts I ended up putting the top case rack back on.   Ratbuell Posted on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 - 12:10 am:        I think you're remembering it around a corner. The posts were more likely something like "the top case rack canNOT be used withOUT the side case racks". Or something like that. They can't require the top case rack be used with the side cases, they sell side cases by themselves with no top case!
