When I pulled into work this morning and Idled up to my parking spot I had an engine knock, not the usual sounds... I shut the bike off and restarted it and I didn't hear it anymore. Well....when I went home this afternoon and parked at home I jumped off the bike and took off my helmet and I heard the same noise, it is a much louder knock than normal. Any thoughts? I know it's been hot here in Florida but I don't know if that's the issue. I checked the oil and it's ok. I also noticed my fan runs slower when the bike is idling as opposed to when I am on the throttle. |

Primary chain is probably loose. Check and adjust it while hot. |

I'll check the horn but it sounds like it's coming from the engine area, I adjusted the primary 1500 miles ago but I'll check it too. The sound is present while at idle, moving or not. |

My 07 is reaching 5K. It does the same noise. Don't worry - just a primary chain talking to you. It's the most prominent when I turn the bike off in gear - hence that's why it's noisy. If you put the bike in neutral before you turn it off does the noise go away? Mine does - primary chain slackness. It's like the design department where I work on Fridays. Slack day |

OK, I haven't had a chance to check it out yet but as soon as I started the bike up tonight to come home from work I heard it, while it was sitting still at idle. I'll have more time tomorrow night or Sat AM at the latest to check that horn and all.... |

Thought I found the problem but then I rode it today and I still hear it. Horn was ok, primary good, my fuse panel cover was off the fusebox and rattling under the seat and my ECM is loose but I couldn't tighten it up, can't get to the damn nut on bottom... And to top it all off, I did a TPS reset and it runs like ass now. Oh brother this sux! |

Could be something to do with the TPS reset. Did you do anything with the AFV value? |
