Kmb, a little weather striping between the seat and the frame will fix your heat problem. |

The seams hurt? Mine has the seams and they don't hurt me. It must be specific leg lengths or something? I'm 6'3", most of it legs |

Gamdh, can you keep us updated when you get your new seat? It's something I'm thinking seriously about and would like to hear about your experience with it. |

I agree that no seat is perfect for doing hours and hours on the bike. Hot weather seems to make things worse. I have put on a few pounds as well, which probably doesn't help. I can ride all day on my FXDX with my Mustang seat and mid controls and highway pegs though with very little discomfort. I had hoped my Uly would be as comfortable, but it is not. It is more fun to ride, but not as comfortable for me. As to Froggy and his comfort on his CR, well all I can say is I did 300 miles on a CR one day and was never happier to be off a motorcycle than when that day ended. My age and weight are likely much different from Froggy's though. |

The stock Uly ergonomics are terrible. The pegs are too low, the bars are too high, the seat has too much cushion, it keeps you very upright which will lead to back pain and exhaustion from the wind. The low Uly pegs will result in leg cramps from the awkward angle. The CR gives perfect weight distribution, with the R being slightly better as it gives more wind protection. I have the touring seat on my 1125's and it is fantastic for soaking up miles. It is nice and firm, very supportive, and doesn't transfer tons of heat to the rider like a non-comfort kit Uly. The radiator pods keep my legs out of the wind, something that can't happen on a XB. It amazes me that people can find being tortured by a Uly to be comfortable! Oh and the better motor is a plus |

Uly seating is subjective. I've never had a problem with my 07 standard seat. Back in the summer of 07 I did a Bun Burner Gold on it with a stock windshield. In 22+ hours in the saddle I never experienced the leg cramps, back pain or exhaustion Froggy mentioned. I will say that my tail bone did get numb after after about 1,300 miles or so but not sure that that would not have happened with another seat. However, I would have killed for the palmer Cruiser / Highway Peg Kit to stretch my legs as my knees were very stiff towards the end of the ride. I have many complaints with the Uly, however lack of comfort is not one of them. I think comfort wise, it stacks up very well with other bikes I have owned. Reliability is another issue altogether. |

I relieve stiff legs by draping my legs over the frame pucks, and hanging them on the turn signals... not the safest thing, but doing that for a few minutes helps stretch the legs... |

I find the Uly to be very comfortable, especially after adding the 1" handlebar risers and 06 tall seat on my 08 XT. Maybe I'm just oddly proportioned but this bike fits me better than any bike I have ever had. I really like the upright seating position, especially when compared to my last bike which had a cruiser seating position. Now that was hard on my back, leaning back slightly with feet forward. I would just cringe if I saw a sharp bump coming up. One time, riding the super slab, I hit a bridge joint so hard it nearly knocked the wind out of me. I had to pull over and stop to catch my breath. I was sore for a week! I never did like that and never felt like I had good control if I were ever to get into an emergency type evasive maneuver. With the Uly, I feel like I am in control, not the bike. Thanks. |

My new 'Tall' seat just got here. The seams along the sides are no longer there!!! The seat cover looks like the stock seat as far as pattern/seams etc... only taller =) |
