I have a 2000 X1 and am looking at picking up a Uly to go with it but I am concerned that the standover will be to high. I have not went off and found one to sit on yet as this will be a late fall/ early winter purchase. I am about 5'9" with about a 31" inseam. Will the low seat make a huge difference? I grew up riding dirt bikes so I am used to the one foot stop but would like to get two down if possible. thanks Nate |

Low seat will make a huge difference. You will likely be able to almost flat foot both feet with the low. Flat footing is over rated- don't buy a bike for the 1% of the time spent at a stop light! Buy it for the fit the 99% of the time that you are riding it! |

No way on earth will you be able to flat foot it with a 31 inch inseam on the low seat, although if you can find an "XT", you might come close. I've got a 32" inseam and usually end up with a one foot plant at intersections. No big deal once you get used to doing this. Best bet is to hunt down somebody that's got one and sit on it....... Yeah, that is my goal to go sit on a few later this summer. I can deal with a one foot stop, not that big of deal. nate |

I wear a 30" inseem in jeans so my actual inseem is actually 31". I ride on 07 Uly. It takes some getting used to but it's well worth it. |

Just watch out for those crowned roads. |

I have a 30" inseam and ride an 08 X. I am not flat footed at stops. But I have no problem. |

M2nc has a 29" inseam and rides a Uly. He has the '07 stock seat on the bike. |

30" inseam, stock 07 Uly. No problems by myself; manageable with a passenger. |

32" inseam,'08 XT with stock seat, can flat foot it as long as the boots have decent soles left on them.Ditto on the intersections with high or unusual crowns on them. |

The 31" inseam should be fine. I have a 28" inseam and was a bit too short for it. |

I am exactly that size and ride an '06 with the "higher" seat. --Doc |
