Just a little last minute somethin for fun... Added the OEM X lower fender and an Acerbis Supermoto upper fender. The thing fits like a glove; Two bolts up through my fog-light bar and it's solid. The Acerbis red is close enough to the Uly red, although not exactly a perfect match. Most people cut off the end of the fender, where it looks like they added on an additional 2 or 3 inches. I'll most likely chop it off as well, although probably not till after Homecoming. It looks a bit more aggressive cut down. I really like the extra protection that the lower X fender provides, the street fender threw mud/rocks/crap all the way up the front of my engine, caking the Voltage Regulator, oil lines, and header pipe. That worried me a bit, seemed like damage could ensue. I'll be the first to say it's a bit goofy looking, but I like it, it's different and adds to the 'do it all' rugged look of the bike. |

You just can't leave well enough alone now can ya? When did you say you were heading out for Homecoming? |

I can not leave anything alone. Leaving Friday, probably about 6:00 AM. Heading straight for Erik Buell Racing with an ETA of 2:00, then the campground, then the banquet and concert. |

Oh Awesome! I will be leaving with 7 gallons of gas, and plan on not stopping till most all of that is gone. |

Mikef5000 So how many miles ya got on the scorpion trails so far? I like my rear trail so far. Want the matching front but the Angel on the front only has 2600 on it and it looks like it will go another 5000 or more. The red looks good. BDRAG (Message edited by BDRAG on June 16, 2010) |

Mike is running a little smaller tank than me.... but I "could" have up to 8.75 gallons 4.25 in the bike 4.5 in the tourtank I fill the tourtank with just 4 gallons so I don't over flow the bikes tank when I turn on the petcock

Mike, that really doesn't look too bad. I too would cut the extra part off, as you plan to. From reading your posts, it seems that you do a fair bit of off-highway riding. Is there a reason you chose the XT over the X model? Just curious. I never even ride on gravel, therefore I chose to buy an XT. If none had been available, I would have gladly accepted the X. Only problem is, the X was not available in red. Thanks. |

It's starting to look like the new Ducati 1200 Multi. |

Looks great Mike. I've been thinking along the same lines for a front fender. What light bar are you using? Where did you get it? thanks, Greg |

I like it. I put one of those Palmer front mud flaps on and that keeps the engine cleaner too. |

From reading your posts, it seems that you do a fair bit of off-highway riding. Is there a reason you chose the XT over the X model? Just curious. 28" inseam. That about sums it up. If I was a couple inches taller I would have gone with an X in a heartbeat. I just didn't feel comfortable on the X. I can't flat-foot the XT, but I couldn't get 2 feet down at all on the X. What light bar are you using? Where did you get it? It's home made. A piece of this angle slatted steel: cut, and painted. I put one of those Palmer front mud flaps on and that keeps the engine cleaner too. I've got one as well; it'll go on later this month! |

Funny, I did the opposite to The Beast yesterday. Just starting the 25k service on my 1125R and I put her airbox and front fender on the Uly. Loretta will be down a few days while I rotate the engine and adjust the valves, this way I have a few less body parts laying around the garage. With the exception of the flyscreen, The Beast is black now, not much blue left. While I was at it, I added 6 bungee hangers on the lid of my tail-box for a net. I'll post a pic or 2 in the Picture thread this evening. Zack |

Looks pretty good Mike, +1 on shortening the beak a little. It fits really well, nice job, those chrome bolts look cool. Zack, I also took a similar set-up off my X to fit a Lightning hugger |
