I had mentioned in another thread "Seats for ULY" that I had just purchased a tall seat on Ebay from Maverick Motorsports in Laramie WY. Well it is here..... a BMW 450 series seat. Now, it specifically states no refunds unless damaged in shipping. I figured what could go wrong with a NEW Uly tall seat. I tried to call immediately but of course they are only open Tuesday to Friday. I will call tomorrow. I am hoping for a full refund with them issuing a call tag since it came UPS. I will keep you informed. Has anyone dealt with Laramiecycles.com or AKA Maverick Motorsports? And also what should I do IF they try to scam me out of the deal? Again I am hoping for the best. If you paid by Paypal, you should have no problem filing a claim and getting your money back. They will make you communicate to the seller first and try and straighten it out, but all else fails you should be entitled to a refund, then sell the BMW seat for profit |

Well I am hoping to give them their seat back at their expense. Not a new seat BTW. I hope that they were not just trying to get rid of this seat in a dishonest way. Hope it was just a mistake. |

Whatever you do, make sure that any shipment to the seller has a tracking number on it, or the truly dishonest ones will show their true colors. I found this out recently buying a *like new* '09 1125 airbox assembly from a BMW guy. The initial communication from eBay/PayPal just said to send it back with no mention of a tracking number. I know I've learned from my mistake, so hopefully someone else can learn from it before committing it. One bad apple spoiled the bunch for me, 1313 |

They said "they would never send me a BMW seat because they are a Harley dealer. Send it back. You pay shipping and if we think that is the seat we sent you we will refund your money" I said why would I trust that you would if you already sent me something that was obviously false advertising. He said this conversation is over. CLICK. WTF do I do now. |

Started a paypal resolution request by telephone. They seemed very accomodating. I am sooo pissed. I hardley ever buy on ebay for this reason. What a bunch of dickbags over there in Laramie WY. I wished I lived closer I would pay them a nice visit. |

Follow Froggy's advice up top. Start a claim with Paypal if you used them. Take pics of the item and document everything on the claim form. He will probably end up having to refund your money. Good luck. It is one of the good things about Paypal. |

You should be covered under ebay's buyer protection. You can go here for more details http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Resoluti onCenter |

I have actually had some really good luck on ebay. Only had I would get 3-4 bad sellers I have encountered. Even scored a nice AGV summer weight jacket for 99 cents. Just follow ebay's protocol and they will back you up! |

I spoke with a dude named Chad from Paypal. I just can't believe that people out there would try and screw people just to screw them. Why would I send a product back that was obviously a fraud attempt back to the people who commited fraud and then let them "decide" if that was the product that they sent me. I asked to talk to the person responsible for shipping the item and he said I am not going to let you speak to anyone. DICK |

Sell it back on ebay. You might get more money than you paid. |

You should get your money back... Paypal always sides with the customer for the most part. I sold a XB12 Race ECM and I clearly stated the part #, make and models it would fit. I had a sniper win, I shipped it the next day. After it shipped, he went to his local dealer and guess what.... they told him it wouldn't work.... well no $HIT! He received the shipment, opened the box and took out another part that he bought from me and taped the box back up and gave it back to the UPS man and said he refused the shipment. I got to pay shipping to and from. He then filled a complaint with paypal and got ALL his money back. I had no problem with refunding his money for the ECM once I got it back, but he should have paid for the shipping. I think you will get taken care of. Its clearly their fault.... They say they are a H-D dealer? They also sell Honda and Can-Am.... sure that seat isn't for a Honda or Can-Am? |

Says BMW on the underside of the seat pan. My guess, after looking online for what type of seat it is, is that is the tall seat for the 650 GS. It has the cut out near the pillion for the fuel cap opening. Concealed it very well in the pic. Next to another pic of a Buell Uly with the seat from BUELL.com. F%uck faces. |

It gets better...... The dumb asses sent out the seat in the original seat styrofoam bag with the customers name and part number: 52532345736. So I googled the part number. Yep it is the LOW seat for the BMW 650. Also, I stood my Uly seat next to the box that the seat came in and it will not fit the width of the box by over three inches at least (Message edited by tankhead on June 15, 2010) |

I'm in the middle of the ebay dispute process myself. I bought a pair of Dainese pants and the seller posted a USPS tracking number....but never took the package to the post office. I emailed the seller 3 times through ebay's message system and then turned it over to them to handle. The seller has 7 days to make good on the item or ebay will refund with shipping and bill the seller |

Wow!! Thanks Andy!!! You sound like a genuine know it all. I filed a claim with PayPal and they did direct me thank you very much. And of course I paid with a visa card, genius. As far as the transaction on the phone, I was very rational, in fact, I explained to them that all they needed to do was send out a UPS call tag and I would return the merchandise to them all I wanted them to do was to refund my money. It was SCOTT, the manager that told me that it must be a issue with fit or I don't have a Ulysses. When I explained to him that it says BMW on the seat pan is when I could tell that he knew exactly what he had done by his changing the story to, "if we think that is the package we sent to you we will send you a refund minus the shipping. Then he became a douche bag and said that the conversation is over goodbye. I did not have a chance to be ummm shall we say, tightly wound on the phone like you have accused me of being. Did not call him back, will not call him back, I will let Paypal handle it. But thanks again Andy for your insight. (Message edited by tankhead on June 15, 2010) |

And now you're being an ass to your "friends" in the forum? You asked a very specific question: "And also what should I do IF they try to scam me out of the deal?" And I answered it in a matter of fact way. Man I just don't understand some people... |

Why was Andy's post removed? He offered some valid points for someone to reference in case they are in a similar situation. Not necessary. |

It actually is the Dakar seat which lists for over $220.00. I wonder why they just did not spend 6-7 extra seconds to research the part number and then list that seat and make even more money. Man, I just don't understand some people... (Message edited by tankhead on June 15, 2010) |
