Planning a trip around Lake Superior in July and wanted some spare petrol….just in case. I opted for a 1 ˝ gallon Kolpin with mount. Figure that it will get me at least 60 miles additional range. Pricewise not too different than tool tubes and MSR bottles – and about 50 times the cost of a bungee cord and little can strapped to my seat. I fashioned a mounting board out of a high tech space age polymer (plastic cutting board), cut it to the beaver tail shape, added some slots/holes that more or less line up with said tail. Then bolted the Kolpin mount to the custom fabricated piece and attached it to the beaver with straps. I will add one more strap around the whole thing when travelling. Total cost $62 bucks more or less. Some nice time in the garage…priceless.

I just bolted the mount to the triple tail, on the other side so I can still run with the top case. works great. |

Sorry, this is the only one I have. I'll try and get some of the mounting later.
