Any idea what is the limit on handlebar risers that can be installed without the need to lengthen cables/lines? Will something like the Rox 2" risers work or would longer cables be needed? |

I have the Rox 2" risers, Stellaglide, and existing cables work fine. I had to go behind the flyscreen and remove the upper clamp for the clutch cable but that's it. I really like them and they look good. |

I put 1" risers on my bike and no modifications at all required. |

Thanks for the quick replies. I test rode a Uly on 2 occasions. The first time I didn't really like it, felt like I was holding myself up with my arms (use to a cruiser seating position) but on the second ride I arched my back a little more and it felt a lot better but I was still reaching pretty far for the bars. Guess it's something you have to get use to. It sucks being only 5'7" with short arms. I installed a different set of bars on my Street Glide but had to change out the throttle and clutch cables and the brake line. Test rode a Tiger 1050 on Friday, then went on a 350 mile on my Glide Saturday and was thinking my back and arms would be killing me if I was on a Uly or even the Tiger with the bars in their stock position. I'm still in the information gathering stage and want to make sure when I get a Uly that I will be able to set it up to fit me better without a lot of hassle. |

While you may want to raise your bars slightly, remember that with the relatively small wind protection these bikes give you at speed, the wind blast against your head and chest will take much of the load off your arms. |

Stellaglide; Along with risers, I recommend that you find an '06 Low seat. It moves you forward a little closer to the bars than the '07-up seat. I'm 5'8" and the '06 Low seat and 1" risers from Performance Engineering make the XT a lot more comfortable. |

I've been looking at putting risers on my '07 too. I like the 2" ROX because you can take the bars up and back. Are they worth $100? Is there any problem just rotating your bars back a bit with the 1" Performance Engineering risers? |

Stella, I have the 1" risers from American Sportbike (One of our sponsors and highly recommended). I almost bought 2" Rox risers and now am glad that I did not. Like Hughlysses said, when at speed the wind blast takes some load off your arms and they are exactly right for me. But, I am 6'0" and have average length arms so what works for me will probably not work for you. If you get risers that are too tall, you will get more wind blast on your helmet as you sit more upright, and therefore are slightly taller. The 1" risers are less money so I would buy them and a low seat as Crusty recommended with the money you save on the 2" risers. Remember too that you can tilt the bars fore and aft slightly which can make a huge difference in feel. Let us know what you decide! Also, no cabling issues at all with the 1' risers. |

Thanks again. You guys make a good point about the more upright position and wind in the chest. At 5'7", I guessing regardless of sitting upright or leaning forward I would less wind than say a rider like Motorbike who is 6'0". I've put Corbins on all my HDs because they tend to sit lower than the stock seats. From all I've read the Uly seat is good as is with no need for an aftermarket but how comfortable is the 06-low seat compared to an 08-later seat? |

The '06 Low seat has a jell pad; and, for me, is much more comfortable than the '07+ seat. I've done 700+ mile days on both and that's my preference. There are others, whose opinion I respect, who prefer the '07+ seat. If you can, I'd suggest you find a pair of Ulys and talk the owners of each into letting you sit on them. |

Bzrider Don't know if I would need to go as high as 2.5", but were able to got that high without swapping cables or brake lines? |

no swapping everyhing fits the 2.5 are great if you stand alo i also have 1 inch drop pegs .i doesnt seem like much but offroad i makes a big difference in the center of gravity.even in the real loose stuff like uphill clay you can keep your balance |

The Rox rock! More than risers, they can pivot back instead of just up giving you a little more reach and a lot of adjustability. Cables can get tight but seem to work, would like to have 2 more inches though! |

Hey Ron, if you decide to get a taller riser, I'd buy your old Rox Riser from you. For a price to be determined! |

Went with the American Sport Bike 1" risers and rotated the bars back 20 or so degrees. Much happier now... 6' tall, 32" inseam. |

I have the 1" risers and the bars rotated back as well. One thing to note, the bars rotated back with the handlebar bag makes it a bit of a PITA getting to the filler cap. |

I meant 2 more inches on the cable lengths, not the risers, the Rox are perfect! |
