I know this subject has been beaten to death, but I took the advice of members on this forum, and ordered a set of Tuono Mirrors from American Sport Bikes. One of the best purchases I've made. Fit and finish is great, they fit the stock collets just fine and look great on the Uly. So much better than the stock "lollipops" I had before. A hearty thumbs up and many thanks Badwebbers...

Since joining this group, I've solved several issues and thwarted a few potential problems, all due to advice given here. Thanks again...If I ever get the chance I owe several of you a beer or two

So you are no longer a member of the ,Now sing along "M I C K E Y M O U S E" Club. Eveytime I saw my bike with those ears I thought of the Mouskateers.

My bike has fuel in frame, mass centralization, perimeter brakes, handling second to none, etc, etc... and oh yea, the crappiest mirrors out there! Did not make much sense to me. I love the Tuono mirrors too. And American Sport Bike is a great company to deal with.

The real Buells come with LED turn signals built into the excellent mirrors : )

I need to pick up some spares for the rest of the bikes

changed the look on the blast by putting them on along with the cityx bars and didn't take me to long to change the ones on the xt because of how much better they are than the mouse ears.

Tuono... How do you say that anyway...? in my "Southern Baptist" dialect it comes out as Twan-oh. Just don't want to embarrass mah' self late on a Saturday night...

Sounds good to me Froggy, thank goodness for online ordering as I didn't have to phone it in, it would have been a sad case indeed.

It's pronounced "Tow - No"
I have a set on my XT, and I'll be putting a set on my Norge soon.

I just put a set on today. You say they fit fine using the stock collets, but I found that using all the stock mounting parts, the mirror shaft is barely inserted into the collet. There's less shaft before the curve on the Tuono mirrors vs the mouse ears.

Si, Bikelit.

Dang it, I guess I'm going to order them too. My H*rl*y's mirrors work way better than the stock Uly's. All I see when I glance at the Uly lollipops are my arms. Having to maneuver one's body while riding just to see who's following or coming up on the side just isn't the safest.

All right; this pronunciation thing has got me going; so I just put in a call to Guido Condelli, and asked him to confer with Vinnie Capone and Sal Correiro.
Guido and I agree that it may be a difference in pronunciation due to dialect; a Sicilian may pronounce it differently than somebody from Venice. However, we will wait and see what the consensus is, and I'll post back here when I know.

http://www.forvo.com/word/tuono/

The link above lets you hear a guy from Italy pronounce tuono.

Nice looking mirrors for 70 bucks a pair from American Sport Bike.

How much are the 1125 mirrors? Anyone have those on a Uly?

They are fantastic, $75 a side though, but they have integrated LED signals. Ratbuell runs the 1125Cr mirrors on his Uly, they bolt on but need a slight modification to clear the handguards. I plan on adding them to my XB.

rwcfrank, I checked them out. Without the added extension I don't believe they would clear the shoulders in the field of vision. I think the Aprilia mirror arms are longer. Let me know what you think.

Well all,

Reading this thread this mornin and never being a fan of the stock round mirrors because I can barley see out of 1/4 of them, I am a wide body, I called a local Aprillia dealer which had a set in stock and ran down and picked a set up. Used the Buell mount and Aprillia mirror.

Well after a short ride I must say, WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO! I can see past my fat self and they look good and I got out for $45.00 tax and all. Thank you whoever figgered this fix out. Money well spent and I have no noticeable vibration issues . I can see the behind spots just fine now.....

Well, after a conference with Guido, Vinnie and Sal (complete with a phone call to Guido's mother in Florida); I admit that you are right, and I am wrong.
Tuono (Thunder in Italian) is pronounced Two-no.
