I have these on my Dl 1000. V Strom. I love the grip and handle. Great in the rain. The review was DEAD ON and the same milage I get on my strom. The carcus is thick and can hold a plug in a pinch with no concerns. Very stiff side walls. I have ridden with a flat rear for 5 or 6 miles and it stayed on the bead. Its Hell to get the front tire which is a 110/80/19 back on the strom with the chepo manual Harbor Freight tire machine the carcus is so stiff. I just got 1920 miles on my Syncs and the rear is toast. I would run these on the ULY if they cam in the right size. But they don't. :-(= I have a set of Angels comming to try. I hope to get atleast 3500 from a rear on the Uly. I need a new Scorpion on the rear of the DL as we speak but the Uly is gettin all the current miles on it. BDRAG | ||

Actually they do come in 17" sizes now. They were made for the new Ducati Multi. I'm sure it's only a matter of a very short time before they will be available to the masses. | ||

From Pirelli US website, they do have them in Uly appropriate sizes (190/55-17):  I am little concerned about the "Unborn handling", though... | ||

I don't know why they wouldn't put a more aggressive tread pattern on those. I'm looking at a set of Angel STs right now that look just as good as those for dirt riding. | ||

The tread pattern looks like a good dual sport compromise to me. The big issue is the carcass thickness to take the off road beating. | ||

Tread pattern is only part of what makes a tire good off road. Think durability. My thinking is, why bother making a tougher carcass if you're going to put (what looks to me like) street tread on it anyway. If you hit a little mud with that front tire, you're going to eat it. Give me something more aggressive and I'll be happy. | ||

I plan on the MT60 up front to get a little more bite and the Trail in the rear. A guy did the TAT with MT90's front and rear and the bike just ate the rear for lunch, but the front survived. So will how this works out. Will have a ride report after the first weekend of May when I do an all day two day off road ride. | ||

Mikef5000 Like I said, the scorpion trails have a real thick carcess. The front is so stiff on the strom being a 110/80/19, its a bitch to get it on and off the wheel with a Harbor Freight type manual changer. The syncs I removed were scary thin. Sport bike tires with a few more grooves. The original Scorpion MT/90's were damn good tires. I do not know why they quit making them. I run these Scorpion trails on my DL 1000 and they work well with the little off roading I do. Dirt roads here and there. I get about 3000 to 3500 on a rear and have managed 12,000 on one of the fronts but normal is about 8500 before the cupping gets to me. I would try a set if they come in the 190's for the rear. I need, absolutely need, to get over 5000 miles out of my rear. I plan on trying this tire as soon as it's available, but now you've got me worried that it's not going to do what I want. | ||

Mikef5000 HAHhaaaaaaaa, Sorry! Your tires will last if ya don't weigh what I do! HAHahaaaaaaaa. I got 1800 out of the OEM syncs. Thats WAY NOT ACCEPTABLE. I just put the Pirelli Angels on and boy what a riding tire it is. Hope to get atleast 3000 to 4000 on it. I only get 3000 on the Strom but thats was with all the different Duel Sport Tires I have tried which were the OEM Trailwings, Dunlop 607's which lost dry traction before ya drag a peg, the Metzeler Torance which were pretty decent and the Pirelli Scorpio MT/90's that were the best IO used for Milage at 5000 on the rears but they were discontinued. Now the New ones work great sept for the milage. VERY stiff side wall and a thick carcus compared to the sync anyway. 2 ply side wall and 4 ply tread I think? If you get 5000 on what ya run, I bet you would get that on the new tire. BDRAG | ||

Been running around Yuma in 80 degrees with no helmet and I can hear my OEM's as I twist that throttle...chirping away. These torque monsters we have are tire eaters...or my throttle twister is a tire eater. 1850 now...Syncs still lookin' good. | ||
